Long live colour! This is the watchword for the 22nd issue of whiteMAD! Following this theme, in this issue we have collected examples of interior design, architecture and design projects in which colour plays a major role. When properly chosen, it gives spaces or products character. The issue attempts to answer the question “what is colour?”. We asked people involved in architecture, design, photography or art to help us with the definition.
The issue opens with the section “Fashion”. In it, you will get to know the stories of three designers: Hanna Wojciechowska, Wiktoria Łaskawiec and Monika Łuczak. Their passion for design translates into brilliant collections. They prove how much potential there is in the new generation of Polish fashion designers.
Another section is ‘Architecture’. In it, we have described interiors that we ourselves would like to live in. Look out for the realisation of the A A studio. Agata Ambrożewska and Agata Krzemińska designed a flat in Mokotów, which is a colourful asylum! In this section, we also describe a colourful house – a contemporary version of the Brda house. This is a project by the duo Pankowska & Rohrhofer, which was realised on the island of Wolin. There are many more colourful stories in this section.

Sylwia Simson, creator of the Hapton lamps, tells us that lamps are not just for shining and that touching them can soothe the senses. We publish an interview with her in the “Design” section. In this section, you will also find statements by various artists, whom we asked what colour is. The artist Maurycy Gomulicki, the architect Przemo Łukasik, the artist Dorota Koziara, the designer Oskar Zięta, the architect Katarzyna Baumiller and the photographic duo Katarzyna Ramocka and Michał Woroniak creating ZASOBY STUDIO gave us their answers.
The right colours in the photographs are also taken care of by Piotr Krajewski. The photographer talked about his passion for taking pictures of architecture. We publish an interview with him in the “Portfolio” section. This is just a brief description of what we have prepared this time.
