A 140-metre house near Wrocław: wood, stone and white

The house in Racławice Wielkie, near Wrocław, is characterised by an elegance that has a calm, cosy feel. Monika Błażewicz from Pracownia MB designed this 140-metre interior, where décor is just as important as the residents’ comfort. Warm white, natural wood and striking stone take centre stage here.

The colour scheme of this project promotes relaxation. Warm shades of white create a gentle backdrop for the wood, whilst the sparingly chosen décor allows the individual materials to shine through. The designer opted for classic proportions and understated combinations. As a result, the interior remains elegant without being overly opulent. It is a space designed for everyday use, where aesthetics do not require sacrificing comfort.

The appearance of the rooms is largely defined by natural veneer, solid wood and stone with distinct veining. Their varied textures add interest to this serene design. The warm colour of the wood softens the austerity of the stone, whose pattern catches the eye against the subdued backdrop. With materials chosen in this way, there is no need for many additional decorations. The decorative effect stems from the textures and natural patterns themselves.

The kitchen, which opens onto the dining room – the heart of the home – plays a key role in the design. This layout makes it easy to spend time together whilst preparing meals and at the table. Understated built-in units complement the wood and natural stone, and the kitchen’s décor is fully in keeping with the home’s living area. Everyday activities take place here in the same tranquil setting as social gatherings and relaxation.

References to period interiors can be found in the subtle millwork, stucco and lighting fixtures. These elements introduce a delicate decorative rhythm without overwhelming the rooms. The designer has used the classical repertoire sparingly, adapting it to contemporary needs. In addition to the shared living area, the project presentation includes a bedroom with an en-suite, a small bathroom, a study and a utility room. The representative spaces are therefore complemented by practical facilities. The house near Wrocław fully meets the requirements of its residents.
