A flat in the Old Ochota district. White and wood reign here

The minimalist interior was designed by Julia Szwed-Płonka, founder of PLON studio. The flat in Stara Ochota is 65 sq m in size and its space is filled with timeless design. A highlight of the space is the large terrace, which offers a view of the nearby greenery.

The premises consist of a hall, living area, bedroom, study and bathroom. Most impressive is the glass wall that separates the living area from the bedroom. Thanks to this glazing, natural light flows into the bedroom. The windows have a southern exposure with a view of the park.

The architect points out the unusual functional layout. The living zone and the night zone were connected to each other, which was taken advantage of by merging the living room and kitchen spaces together with the bedroom.

By enlarging the living zone and opening up the bedroom towards it, it was possible to obtain an axial space that was optically enlarged,” explains the designer.

A huge asset is the large windows and what lies behind them. The interior of the flat changes its appearance over time and depends on the seasons. The strength and beauty of nature can therefore be admired while relaxing on the comfortable sofa or sitting at the table in the dining area.

The flat was intended to be minimalist, reminiscent of Danish interior design classics. The use of natural materials such as oak veneer forming the furniture built-ins, oak planks on the floor, Bardiglio marble and Taj Mahal quartzite on the countertops formed a good base. The lighting was intended to catch the eye and at the same time be a springboard for colour. The Flowerpot from &tradition in plum, the Lampe de Marseille from Nemo and the vintage PH5 from Louis Poulsen were three elements that completed the designed flat. They were a kind of complement to the previously mentioned base.
