A flat with a view of Warsaw. This is a new project by the houmi studio

It has 125 sq m. The flat with a view is located in the centre of Warsaw, and its great advantage is the view of the northern part of the city. The interior for the young couple was designed by architects from the houmi projects studio – Aleksandra Poprawa-Ożga and Katarzyna Kacik.

The investors dreamt of an elegant space, but full of life and colour. However, a renovation was necessary, which included replacing all installations and renovating the solid oak parquet floor. The remodelling of the walls opened up the interior to natural light and a panoramic view of the northern part of the city. The entrance area was complemented by a comfortable dressing room, which flows seamlessly into a representative living room with kitchenette. The functional layout is complemented by two bathrooms, a bedroom, a study and an additional room, ensuring comfort and privacy.

Daily zone

In the open-plan living area, white walls contrast with an intense blue alluding to the sky, introducing positive energy. Brass fittings, elegant lamps and stucco blend harmoniously with the soft, curved forms, creating a balance between tradition and modernity. The stone worktop and flattened fronts of the kitchenette blend in perfectly with the lounge area, while natural wood and fabric accessories warm up the entire space.

Study and work area

With remote working in mind, a study has been arranged in warm peach tones, conducive to concentration. A modern wall unit with three arched portals combines functionality with finesse of form, set against a background of linen-patterned wallpaper. A simple desk and spot lighting emphasise the minimalist character, while brass handles are a subtle detail that integrates the zone with the rest of the flat.

In the bathroom, the designer chose to decorate the floor with a fine mosaic with contrasting grout. The walls are covered with tiles in a grey terrazzo pattern. Cabinetry in a muted blue shade and a whitewashed wooden cabinet offset the dark granite worktop. The austere character is brought out by simple combinations of textures and colours, which gives the bathroom a strong statement.

In the second bathroom you will find the bathtub. This space was designed to create a bathing lounge. The relaxation is enhanced by the rock pattern on the tiles and the Rosso Levanto marble. The floor and the shelf next to the bathtub are finished with geometric square tiles that break up the elegant style. Natural oak elements warm up the space, creating an intimate relaxation area.

Private area

The bedroom is an oasis of calm, the focal point of which is the bed with rattan headrest. A muted palette of mint and turquoise sets a calming mood, while wallpaper with an embossed floral motif evokes nature. The rounded wardrobe with geometric handles maintains an optical lightness, while the variety of materials and textures gives the interior a distinct yet soothing character.
