The house is located in the Wawer district of Warsaw. The modern body and colourful facades of the neighbouring buildings are echoed inside. The interior of the house was designed by Patrycja Paś-Gürtler and Kaja Dębska of the LoveTo.design studio.

The architects preceded the preparation of the interior design with a thorough interview with the investors. After the first discussions, they decided that the space to be designed must be timeless and reminiscent of hotel spaces. They opted for simple forms, which they juxtaposed with expressive colours. The common denominator of the rooms is the elegant wood used in the furnishings. The character of the interior is also built up by sintering with stone and black accessories. The ground floor is decorated in powder pink, while the first floor is decorated in an eye-soothing sage green.

The interior design was created for a family of four. The ground floor features a large communal area where the family can spend most of their free time. The numerous storage compartments make it easier to keep things tidy. A cubicle-shaped enclosure, which conceals capacious wardrobes, the entrance to the bathroom and a high kitchen unit, catches the eye right from the entrance.

This simple and monumental form is further emphasised by the led lighting in the originally designed suspended ceiling, where the built-in furniture reaches all the way up to the actual ceiling. There is no coincidence in this design. Every detail is important, such as the skirting boards recessed into the walls or the delicate balustrade next to the carpeted staircase,” explain the designers.

The kitchen area has been connected to the living room by a cleverly designed built-in structure. The kitchen does not manifest its presence. It is delicate and concealed. The architects dispensed with wall cabinets and decided to play with form and colour. They juxtaposed the light shape of the low built-in units with a stone pedestal and a wooden cubicle. To emphasise the lightness of the light furniture, they chose a thin compact worktop that appears to levitate above the cabinets. The tiles have a decorative function.

Everyday life … revolves around the table. The furniture is the focal point of the living area and is already visible from the entrance. The table has a heavy leg and a delicate, elliptical top. The table is the link between the kitchen and the living room. In the latter, a low stone pedestal has been integrated into the wall with the television. The pink already mentioned at the beginning appears in the upholstery of the sofa.

On the ground floor, there is still a bathroom, which is like a modern casket. The room is concealed in a wooden cubbyhole. Here, the designers opted for simple solutions and colour. Pink tiles in two formats are complemented by stone sintering and wooden furniture fittings.

The remaining rooms are located on the first floor. This is the private area with bedrooms, a study, a bathroom and a laundry room.

When designing the interiors of this house, the use of high-quality materials and stylistic consistency were important to us. The concept for the first floor is based on the same material base, this time complemented by the colour of muted green,” they add.

The bathroom in this part of the building was designed with relaxation in mind. The effect was achieved through the use of colour and plenty of daylight. A free-standing bathtub has been placed in a central position. The space is completed with a hanging stone box with a green washbasin. The bathroom also features a shower and a wooden toilet enclosure.

It was a great pleasure to work on this project. From the very first discussions, the clients’ needs were clear to us, and our stylistic or functional suggestions were very quickly liked by the investors. Each stage of the project only reassured us that the end result would be extremely satisfying,” conclude Patrycja Paś-Gürtler and Kaja Dębska.
