Its interior was designed by Maja Dembowska. The house in Zawady was to be characterised by natural and good-quality materials and warm tones. A family of four with two dogs lives here.
It is an example of functional space arrangement. The house in Zawady, Warsaw, has a clear division of zones. The living area is very spacious with lots of windows that let in a lot of natural light. For this reason, the architect decided to use a variety of structures and materials that together create a harmonious interior.
In total, the building has three levels. Visually, they are connected by clay plaster, structured wallpaper and micro-cement in the bathrooms. Warm colours and wooden furniture complete the look. A beautiful addition is the natural quartzite “Bohemia” that adorns the kitchen island and the tops of the bedside cabinets near the bed.
The designed kitchen is finished with built-ins in grey and beige tones. A decorative detail is the milled fronts of the wall cabinets. The focal point is the aforementioned island, which is highlighted by the use of dark stain and patterned natural stone. This piece of furniture was designed by the architect with all residents and communal living in mind.
On the first floor, there is a private area with a bedroom combined with a bathroom and dressing room. In addition, there are two children’s rooms, a bathroom, a laundry room and another dressing room. The bathroom next to the bedroom is small, but it has managed to respond to all the owners’ needs. In the bedroom, the theme from the ground floor has been repeated – a veneered panel on the wall. The section to the left of the bed is finished with a structured wallpaper with a floral motif. Above the bedside table, you can see the VIBIA pendant lamp with an attached place for a live plant. A cosy touch is added by three large lamps under the ceiling. They form an attractive light installation.
The top level is the attic, which has been arranged as a workout room. The high, pitched roof has been finished with woodgrain vinyl. The flooring, on the other hand, is a warm grey. This is a practical solution, as the material is water-resistant and absorbs the vibration of the bikes.
About the studio:
DEMBOWSKA architecture studio was born out of my passion for beautiful interiors, which has continued uninterrupted for many years. I decided that I would be an architect already in primary school. This was followed by studying at the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology and gaining experience in architectural offices in Poland and abroad. Everything led me to where I am now. To my own studio, where I am very happy to focus on fulfilling the needs and dreams of individual clients. Thanks to an aesthetic sense combined with technical knowledge, functional, practical and coherent interiors are created above all.
