A house near Krakow. This is how they decorated their 110 sq m.

Its interior was designed by Paweł Ślęzak of the Architaste studio. The house is located in the Zielonki municipality near Kraków. The typical semi-detached house has been given a modern interior with peace and harmony.

The interior was designed for a couple who come from China. The couple moved to Poland a few years ago and decided to make a life for themselves in this country. Their house has three floors. On the ground floor, there is a small hallway, of which the corridor is an extension. Another part consists of a separate kitchen, a living room connected to the dining room and a guest toilet with a laundry function. An open staircase leads to the next floors, where a bedroom with a separate bathroom, a guest bedroom, a study and a public bathroom are located. The attic was used by the architect to build a large dressing room.

The interior design is kept in a muted, neutral colour scheme. White meets grey and is interspersed with beige and earthy colours. Black is an elegant accent.

When working on the interior design, the architect decided to make changes to the existing functional layout. A kitchen was created in the place where the garage had been, and a second doorway was knocked into the existing passage from the garage in order to make the communication between the hallway, the kitchen and the common area of the house efficient. The garage door was removed and a kitchen window was inserted in its place. Working out the final functional layout was quite a challenge.

Another challenge, for example, was to hide the plumbing, boxes and valves from the former garage. The architect was unable to remove them, so he decided to hide these elements in custom-made furniture. Arranging the dressing room was also quite a problem. It is located in the attic, but the bevels were a limitation.

We pondered over which fronts to choose and the final choice was smoked glass with a sliding system. Wanting to make maximum use of the attic space, we did not make a standard glass barrier upstairs, but decided on a furniture enclosure, which is a safe barrier and also fulfils its primary function, explains Paweł Ślęzak.

The bedroom was also designed in an original way. Next to the bed, the wall has taken the shape of an arch and turns into a light installation at night. AQForm lighting and ORAC DECOR wall panels were used in the design.
