A house with a pink bathroom. Bold interior in Wrocław

The interior of the house in Wrocław was designed by Marcin Cibor of the Cibor Design studio. The rooms were filled with expressive colours and design, creating an attractive living space.

The house is 165 sq m in size. When designing its interior, Marcin Cibor relied on a multitude of materials and textures that, when combined together, create an eclectic space. The house was built for a young couple who wanted to surround themselves with objects that would introduce a summer atmosphere.

The interior aesthetic draws on various trends from recent years. The space will appeal to fans of minimalism, wabi sabi, japanese, industrial style or monocolour. The entrance area already announces the interesting space. A wooden, glazed door, which was made to measure, leads into the living room. Next is the living area of 50 square metres. The floor in this area is finished with micro-cement, and the walls are largely covered with a decorative structure by ArtWalls. Other parts of the walls and ceilings are complemented by white.

The kitchen consists of a large island almost 2.5 m long, which is finished with terrazzo tiles. The island is the heart of the kitchen, and a sink with copper fittings has been installed on it. The working area of the kitchen is separated by a frame made of veneered board and the same material is used for the fronts of the wall units, whose dense fluting adds lightness and enriches the structure of the interior.

An interesting addition, and one that is quite rare in Poland, is the potfiller over the cooker – a special mixer with a cold water connection, which makes it possible, among other things, to fill large pots with water without having to carry them from the sink to the cooker. The rest of the kitchen is a built-in bar with white goods and a side-by-side fridge. Although black is a risky colour for a kitchen, fingerprint-resistant acrylic fronts were used here, says the designer.

To visually separate the kitchen area from the lounge area, the architect designed a mirrored wardrobe. A large recess for the television was created right next to it. Between the sofa and the TV, a bio-fireplace is built into the wall. The relaxation area has been pushed slightly into the recess, creating a cosy place to relax.

There are two bathrooms in the house. The smaller one is located on the ground floor. It is distinguished by its beige colour scheme. The star of the space, however, is the bathroom on the first floor. Its arrangement clearly differs from the aesthetics of the rest of the house. The floor is laid in black terrazzo with white aggregate, which flows into a low flange on the walls. Above, pink tiles and laths complete the space. The space is completed with a door in… pink, of course! A big feature of the bathroom is the skylight window that lets in natural light and the wall-mounted bathtub below. The differences between the black floor and flange and the pink sections of the walls are emphasised by a soft led light concealed in the overhead walls.

Right next door is the master bedroom. Due to the dense decoration with concrete structures on the walls and floor, it appears as a stone, contemporary grotto. The Tufti bed from Rosanero is the main piece of furniture here, and the whole is complemented by modest lighting and furniture with a wooden structure.
