A hornbeam hedge instead of a fence – an action to make the surroundings of the Atlas Arena in Łódź greener and more citizen-friendly. In addition to a hedge made of hornbeams, a lot of new greenery will be added to the Atlas Arena grounds, as well as new benches. The area will also be concreted to gain more space for plants.
A hornbeam hedge and attractive shrubs are being planted at the Atlas Arena in Łódź. The space will also be supplemented with benches, which will certainly encourage city residents to visit this part of Łódź more often.
The hornbeam is perfect for a hedge – it grows quickly and insulates very well after 3-4 years. It is long-lived, undemanding and therefore easy to maintain. An additional advantage is that after autumn the browned leaves persist until spring, so they will continue to please our eyes for a long time. Other species being planted include red and white groundcover roses, as well as grey tawula, coneflowers, sage, ornamental grasses, sedums and hydrangeas. The work to deconstruct the area around the Atlas Arena is to be completed by the end of October 2024. How do you assess this solution? Will the hornbeam row improve the aesthetics of the Atlas Arena?
