Luxury is at its best when it doesn’t have to prove anything. There are projects where the class of an interior isn’t determined by the number of striking features, but by the quality of a single, consistently executed concept. This is precisely how Vibe House came into being — a home redesigned from scratch within an existing structure, with a focus on everyday comfort, privacy and a distinctive, memorable atmosphere. The MOKAA studio took over the project at the development stage and completely redesigned its layout, giving the interiors a new logic and a significantly higher standard of living.
A house redesigned from the ground up
From the outset, the project required mature functional decisions, rather than merely aesthetic refinement. It was function that became the cornerstone of the entire project. The entrance was moved to the side of the building, and the ground floor gained a clearer division: to the left of the entrance, a living area with a kitchen and lounge was situated, whilst to the right, a recreational space was created. The house was designed for one of Poland’s most influential online creators, so the interiors had to work well not only in everyday use but also as a backdrop for photos and video recordings. The project for the 200 m² house, situated in Wola Justowska in Kraków, covered the entire process: from concept, through construction work, to project supervision. A complete overhaul of the functional layout was key. The entrance was relocated, the sleeping area on the first floor was rearranged, and the garage was converted into a private spa area with a swimming pool and sauna.
Swimming pool adjacent to the living area
The relationship between the living area and the wellness zone has become the project’s most distinctive feature. Access to the swimming pool leads directly from the kitchen area, but the space is separated by glazing, which ensures privacy whilst maintaining the visual continuity of the interior. This solution is rarely seen in a home of this size. The swimming pool, adjacent to the kitchen and living room, significantly broadens the definition of the home’s living area. In this design, leisure has been integrated into everyday life, rather than separated from the main living areas of the house.
This decision was also the most challenging from a construction perspective. Converting the garage into a wellness area involved extensive structural work, additional insulation of the foundations, bringing the swimming pool basin in through the former entrance, and replacing the gate with glazing.
Luxury embodied in the materials
The character of the interior is defined primarily by the materials: chocolate-coloured wood veneer, large-format stone-effect sintered tiles and smoked glass. Added to this is a palette based on whites, beiges, greys and blacks. This combination gives it a timeless, serene feel. Instead of decorative excess, there is consistency and meticulously executed detail.
Open-plan private area on the first floor
On the first floor, the MOKAA team designed an open master bedroom area, where the sense of spaciousness stems from the layout rather than a large floor area. A walk-in wardrobe is situated behind the headboard, and the freestanding bath is separated by a glass partition. Only those areas that genuinely require greater privacy remain enclosed – the toilet and shower. As a result, the upper floor has gained a more relaxed, fluid character and meets the standard of a premium home filled with light. Vibe House clearly demonstrates how MOKAA interprets ‘quiet luxury’.
Tranquillity and luxury are definitely the right words to describe this house. It is comfortable to live in and features recreational areas. It is liveable and spacious, despite the small footprint of the existing structure. Add to that timeless colours and high-quality materials. “Yes, this is definitely the ‘quiet luxury’ style that is characteristic of the MOKAA design studio, ” says architect Anna Lorenz, co-owner of MOKAA, about the project.
The greatest strength of this project is that, within the existing, fairly standard structure, we have managed to create an interior with a completely new identity — distinctive, comfortable and consistent. It is luxury rooted in a well-designed space that works well in everyday life and as part of one’s image.
