In the heart of Krakow’s Dębniki, one of the city’s most picturesque districts, an extraordinary flat has been created that combines contemporary art, design and feng-shui principles. It is here, surrounded by green parks and the meandering Vistula River, that Agnieszka and Samir, owners of the design and realisation studio LSD.STUDIO, have created their place on earth.
A house with soul and character
When Agnieszka and Samir discovered Dębniki a few years ago, they immediately felt that this is where they wanted to live. The intimate character of the neighbourhood, combined with its proximity to the city centre, turned out to be a perfect compromise between dynamic city life and the need for intimacy and peace.
“Our flat is not only a living space, but also a combination of our professional competences: mine, as interior designer, and Samir’s, who manages the realisation process. We are perfectionists, so the process of creating our home was challenging. We don’t like to compromise – it’s either perfect or not at all.” – agnieszka emphasises.
Maximumism without limits
Designing a house for ourselves proved to be much more challenging than working with clients. The process took years and involved countless trials and many out-of-the-box solutions. Thirty alternative kitchen layouts, a wardrobe design for a bedroom that took three years to mature, or a floor made of planks burnt with live fire – these are just a few of the many examples showing how much attention was paid to every detail.
“As the old saying goes: ‘May you never be your own customer’ – with us it was exactly the opposite. It proved to be a valuable lesson and allowed us to see the design process from the perspective of the client. We learnt a lot about ourselves and how demanding clients can be,” – samir admits.

Feng-shui harmony
For Agnieszka, an important aspect was not only the aesthetic and functional arrangement of the interior, but also its energy. For several years she has been studying the principles of the Taoist philosophy of feng-shui, which clearly influenced the final character of the flat. The right choice of materials, colours and shapes was aimed at creating a space that has a positive effect on the wellbeing of household members and guests.
“The effort I put into making the energy of our home positive has definitely paid off. Not only do we feel good here ourselves, but our guests don’t want to leave, either.” – laughs Agnieszka. “In Poland, we still pay too little attention to how interiors affect our emotions. Sometimes we care more about how a flat looks in pictures than how we feel in it. And yet it is the home that should harmonise with our energy and tell our own story.”
Agnieszka and Samir’s flat is not just a flat – it is a passionate story about the search for harmony between art, design and positive energy. The interior is proof that a home can be more than just four walls – it can be a space that heals, inspires and gives solace.
