A modern combat sports hall will be built in Poznań. The tender for the contractor is under way

A modern martial arts hall will soon be built on the premises of the School Complex No. 8 in Jarochowskiego Street in Poznań. The investment is the result of the activities of the Poznań Municipal Investments Company, which has announced a tender to select a contractor for the project. The new facility will meet the needs of athletes training in combat sports, in particular Poznań judokas.

Currently, judokas train at Taborowa Street, but a new swimming pool is planned there, which necessitated the need to find a new training space. The hall at Jarochowskiego is to provide a comfortable and functional place to train and organise sporting events. As Marcin Gołek, vice-president of Poznań Municipal Investments, emphasised, the new hall will create conditions for judokas to develop effectively and prepare before competitions. In addition to sporting activities, there will also be space for performances and events for the school’s students and members of the Poznan Judo Academy.

The total area of the new facility will be nearly 2,000 square metres, and its functionality will be divided into three main zones. The sports hall, with an area of around 1,000 square metres, will be the main part of the hall, with technical and business facilities. The office-administrative area will include a reception area, a sanitary node and a social room. The changing room area will be equipped with facilities such as a gym, fitness room and sauna. The design of the hall includes full adaptation to the needs of people with disabilities, including through barrier-free entrances, accessible from ground level, which will ensure comfort and accessibility for all users.

Architecturally, the martial arts hall is intended to have a simple, modern form, and its colours and details will relate to the surrounding buildings, including the neighbouring sports hall and school. The character of the building will be emphasised by a sporty accent in the form of an arched canopy, which will harmonise with the cuboidal core. Compositionally, the design is based on two elements that form a coherent whole, blending in perfectly with the surroundings. In addition to the construction of the martial arts hall itself, the contractor selected in the tender will be responsible for the development of the area around the building and the technical infrastructure. The plan includes the creation of parking spaces, a bicycle shelter, paved footpaths and a fire road. In addition, the area around the hall will be enhanced with greenery planting.
