Wieża widokowa na Pańskiej Górze

A new lookout tower in the Beskydy Mountains! Built on Pańska Góra

A new lookout tower has appeared in Andrychów on Pańska Góra. The structure almost immediately became one of the most interesting points on the tourist map of the region and gained popularity among residents and visitors. The new investment is important for the development of local tourism and the promotion of the entire municipality.

Observation tower on Pańska Góra – view of half the region

The tower measures 32 metres and the viewing terrace is 27 metres high. From there, a wide panorama stretches, including the Little Beskid, the Vistula Valley, the Wieliczka Foothills and, when the weather is good, parts of western Małopolska. From the heights, it is possible to see the entire municipality of Andrychów from a perspective that has never been seen before. Although Pańska Góra itself measures only 432 metres above sea level, it is easily accessible and a walking destination for people of all ages. In spring, the local camping meadow is covered with crocuses, and the western slopes of the hill reveal limestone rocks dating from the Jurassic period.

The lookout tower on Pańska Góra as a project with a message

The construction of the tower was part of a wide-ranging ecological and educational project entitled ‘Increasing native biodiversity and introducing elements of small-scale retention in the Panska Gora park’. As part of this, numerous measures were implemented to protect nature and improve the quality of this space. New plantings, ponds and bioretention ditches have appeared in the park. Grapes are ripening in the microsite, and insect houses, nesting boxes for birds and shelters for bats have been prepared for animals. The area has been enhanced with a green field classroom, educational boards, walking and cycling trails and rest areas.

Panska Góra – name and history

The name of the hill refers to the history of the village. In former centuries this area belonged to the owners of Andrychów, who established fruit orchards here. Even today, old apple trees can be found in the area, a remnant of those times. The locals used to call the hill “the Lord’s Hill” and over the years this name has become firmly established in local tradition.
