A new restaurant pavilion next to the historic mill. The building draws on the history of the site

The restaurant for which the new pavilion was built is located in the beautiful Roztoczański National Park buffer zone on the Wieprz River, in the immediate vicinity of a three-storey historic wooden mill. The design of the new building was made by MTA Architekci.

The design was based on the idea of complementing the existing building by adding a modern pavilion, which in its character will refer to the existing solutions characteristic of the neighbouring historic buildings. The proposed architecture, despite its contemporary expression, respectfully refers to the history of the place both through the proposed urban layout creating an internal main courtyard, as well as through the local materials used in the design and the detailing.

The most characteristic element of the whole establishment is the existing historic old mill built in 1936. The building was equipped with a water turbine used to generate electricity for the nearby furniture factory and the adjacent factory estate. The building still has perfectly preserved wooden interiors and many antique solutions and details, making it a unique attraction in Roztocze visited by many tourists and gourmets every year.

The highest quality and character of the place have been confirmed by the long-standing presence of the restaurant on the list of the famous yellow Gault & Millou guide honouring the creators of the best regional products. For years, the restaurant has specialised in exceptional trout dishes raised in its own organic farm located in the immediate vicinity of the new pavilion. Within the restaurant complex, the owners have established their own vegetable and herb garden, from which fresh harvests are delivered every morning.
