Following the success of the Silia rain shower head, which received an award in 2024, this time the international jury has recognised the Carta by emo design collection – the latest project, created in collaboration with the Italian studio Emo Design. This is not only a prestigious accolade for the collection, but above all confirmation of the brand’s consistently implemented design strategy, which has for years demonstrated that top-class design goes hand in hand with functionality, durability and a responsible approach to design.
Red Dot for the second time
The Red Dot Design Award, presented since 1955 by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, remains one of the most prestigious accolades in the world of design. The jury assesses not only the aesthetics of the products, but also their innovation, build quality, functionality and design responsibility.
Winning the Red Dot Design Award is one of the most significant moments in the history of product development for any manufacturer. The award-winning Carta by emo design collection was created in collaboration with the renowned Italian studio Emo Design. The result of this partnership is a design that combines two perspectives on contemporary design – Deante Design Studio’s characteristic approach to functionality, durability and build quality, alongside the Italian flair for form and the ability to create a timeless aesthetic.
Carta by emo design was designed in the spirit of conscious minimalism. Its form is understated yet not cold; subtle, yet expressive. The design is based on material consistency and proportions that ensure the collection remains relevant regardless of changing trends. This design is created with long-term use in mind – both in terms of aesthetics and technology.
The collection’s journey that caught the designers’ attention
The collection’s first international presentation took place at the Cersaie trade fair in Bologna – one of the world’s most important events in the bathroom fittings and ceramics industry. It was there that Carta by emo design first caught the attention of architects, interior designers and representatives of manufacturers from many countries.
The collection made its Polish debut at the Warsaw edition of ARCHITECT@WORK. It was the first venue in the country where architects could view the design ahead of its official market launch. The high level of interest from visitors confirmed that the direction taken by Deante Design Studio meets the expectations of professionals seeking products that combine high-quality design with durability and functionality.
Essen – a global celebration of design
This year’s Red Dot Design Award ceremony, held on 7 July at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, brought together designers and representatives of the world’s most recognisable brands. Among the winners and guests were representatives from companies such as Ferrari, Honda, Fiskars, BRP and Epson, and the event traditionally served as a meeting place for the leading figures in contemporary design.
The Deante Design Studio team was also present at the gala, alongside designers from Emo Design, to jointly receive an award for the Carta by emo design collection. The symbolic significance of this presence is underscored by the nature of the project itself – created through collaboration between a Polish manufacturer and an Italian design studio, resulting in a collection recognised by the most demanding jury in the world of design.
