The single-storey house in Osowiec near Warsaw is a space that combines functionality with exceptional style. It consists of a living area comprising a vestibule and an open area combining the kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a more intimate area containing a bedroom with a dressing room, a bathroom and two offices for the owners. The house is surrounded by greenery, which further emphasises its cosy character.
The household members are a couple and two pets – a dog and a cat. The owners are passionate about collecting LEGO models, which is evident at every turn, and their impressive collection adorns the interior of the house. In addition, they love to travel, from which they bring back designer accessories and souvenirs that give the interior a personal touch. The design brief was closely linked to the investors’ personalities and interests. The design was intended to reflect originality, a love of colour and bold combinations of forms, as well as cosiness and functionality. Every detail was carefully considered to create a space that not only delights in design, but also meets the needs of the homeowners.
At the heart of this interior you will find a kitchen with a unique design, where every detail has been carefully considered. The dominant colours are muted beiges and whites, which provide a calm base for more expressive accents. The kitchen is distinguished by a pink island with an original, rounded shape, which harmonises perfectly with the burgundy and wooden furniture. Above the kitchen cabinets are fine tiles with coloured grout, which bring charm and lightness to the space. The kitchen floor features modern tiles with a geometric pattern, which corresponds well with the rest of the interior.
The kitchen blends seamlessly with the living room, creating an open, cosy zone. Particularly noteworthy is the bookcase, which serves as a place to display the LEGO model collection and beautiful albums and books. The whole is complemented by a rug with a strong lattice pattern, which brings a graphic touch to the space. The rounded shapes of the furniture give the interior a soft and welcoming feel. Designer accessories such as the unusual lamp above the table and colourful vases emphasise the individual character of the space. This interior combines cosiness with modernity, offering functionality and distinctive style at the same time.
The bathroom, stylistically consistent with the living area, is another interior dominated by patterned tiles and tiles with pink coloured grout. The maroon high ceiling decoratively finished cabinet adds character to the space, and the rounded washbasin cabinet with concealed space for a cat litter tray is an example of a practical yet aesthetically pleasing solution. The walk-in shower provides convenience, while the toilet bowl with wash and warming seat function, inspired by the owners’ travels to Japan, is a nod to modern technology.
The bedroom is a place that charms with its cosiness and original design. The walls have been painted a deep burgundy colour, and the decorative wall behind the bed has been enriched with rounded niches in which soft lighting has been placed. Pink and maroon also appear in the textiles – the bed upholstery, curtains, bed linen and carpet, which creates a colour-coherent composition. An interesting accent is the bedside table and dressing table, designed by the architect, which perfectly match the character of the interior. The curves present in the furniture, accessories and fixed elements emphasise the harmony and cosy atmosphere of the bedroom.
The house also has two offices, designed to accommodate the remote work undertaken by the owners. Each room has been customised – her study is kept in wood and beige tones, while her space combines the rawness of concrete with a strong accent of colour. In addition to the ergonomic workspaces, the architect again took care to include shelving designed to store and display the impressive collection of LEGO models, further emphasising the passions and interests of the investors.
The architect took care of every detail, resulting in solutions such as coloured plinths and handles in the built-in units, original maroon electrical fittings and interesting lighting. The interior features trendy, irregularly shaped mirrors, lots of colour combined with neutral beiges, as well as geometric patterns in the tiles and carpets. The roundness of the furniture harmonises with the geometric details, creating a coherent yet original composition of the space. How do you like the single-storey house in Osowiec?
