WMC Wrocław Medical Clinic, designed by Natalia Cisowska from Pracownia Cisowska, is 135 square metres of consciously shaped space, where architecture becomes a tool of care. The project shows that a doctor’s office can be more than just a functional facility – it can be a place that soothes, envelops and allows you to breathe.
From the very threshold, one can sense that the design was created with the emotions of the people who come here in mind. Cisowska rejected the coldness and sterility so often associated with medical facilities. Instead, she used a colour palette close to the body, soft, organic and pulsating with warmth. Orange and pink – in many shades, saturations and textures – lead through the rooms, creating an atmosphere of lightness and kindness. These are colours that do not dominate, but harmonise with the patients, allowing them to feel at ease in a situation that can be stressful.
The counterpoint to this softness is the dark, heavier floor. Its role is immediately apparent: it stabilises, grounds and gives a sense of security. Combined with a wealth of materials – smooth, rough, matte, shiny – it creates a multi-layered composition that works both visually and tactilely. The interiors are not one-dimensional; they invite you to feel them, not just look at them.
The project was the result of another collaboration between the architect and the investors – a married couple of doctors whose energy and optimism became one of the foundations of the concept. The architect knew exactly what they wanted: a beautiful, original and cheerful place. She transferred this mood to the walls by choosing wallpapers from a Polish brand, which serve as visual accents. They are not random – each one has been selected to bring joy, but also calm, so that patients can find something for themselves in them, forgetting, even for a moment, the tension associated with their visit.

WMC is also a manifestation of Natalia Cisowska’s design philosophy. The architect, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, focuses on the relationship with the client as a starting point. It is only from this relationship that decisions about light, materials, proportions and details emerge. This is particularly evident in this project – the interiors are not only aesthetic, but also deeply empathetic, designed with attention to the needs of the people who will use them.
