A studio flat in cream colours. Let’s take a look inside the flat on Kalwaryjska Street in Krakow!

This cream-coloured studio flat is the latest project by architects from the Noreststudio studio. What can be conjured up in a small flat in a block of flats in Krakow’s Podgórze district? The most common request from investors is to create a universal space that will appeal to as many people as possible despite a limited budget. In this case, it was different. “The client who approached our studio was determined to create something beautiful, distinguished by its aesthetics, above the standard offer of flats for rent. The flat was to reflect the investor’s personal aesthetic preferences, so that she herself would be willing to live there. Thanks to this, the space, despite its small size, became authentic and functional, designed to ensure comfort and satisfaction for customers who would appreciate it,” explain the architects.

The investor wanted to create a separate bedroom space that would provide comfort and privacy for the tenant. As a result, an openwork partition was created, separating and at the same time connecting the living room with the bedroom area. An important aspect was to maximise the use of daylight in both areas, which was ensured by the aforementioned structure. On the entrance side, space was provided for a wardrobe with a seat and a lighted mirror.

“The strength of the designed space lies in the materials, which allowed us to create a coherent, harmonious and spacious place. The uniform resin flooring visually enlarged the space without disturbing it with additional forms. Continuing this idea, we gave the walls the same shade, delicately enriching them with stucco and original kitchen furniture. When selecting the worktop, we also looked for a shade that matched our idea, and ultimately chose a Dekton Aeris Natural Collection sintered worktop.  To break up the uniform colour scheme, we proposed some walnut-coloured furnishings, such as a Letto TV cabinet, built-in furniture in the entrance area and bathroom, and chairs,” add the architects.

The final challenge was to make the bathroom functional, giving it a spacious and elegant feel. This was achieved by playing with mood lighting, with LED lighting by the mirror and basic lighting on the ceiling. By carefully manoeuvring the proportions of the selected equipment, a spacious walk-in shower, a comfortable suspended washbasin and a utility space with a built-in washing machine were achieved. The whole design refers to the colour scheme of the rest of the flat, using shades of cream, wood and white. How do you like this cream-coloured studio flat?

About the studio:
Noreststudio – a studio founded by architect Bartłomiej Dziedzic and Alicja Karwowska-Dziedzic, graduates of the Krakow University of Technology. After years of gaining experience in Krakow design offices, they turned their passion for creating beautiful things into their own graphic design studio, which is now thriving worldwide. In response to market demand and numerous design enquiries, we decided to expand our visualisation activities to include comprehensive interior design projects, creating a subsidiary company – Noreststudio Wnętrza. We design private spaces (houses, apartments, flats for rent) and public spaces (common areas in residential buildings, lobbies), giving them a timeless, unique character. Privately, they are the owners of Klops the pug (who holds the position of construction manager ;)), advocates of an active lifestyle and healthy eating.
