Benidorm is a city located in eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea, in the central Costa Blanca; the flat there was designed by Kristina Busko. The interior was created as a place of rest, an oasis where body and soul will return to full form.
When working on the interior design, the architect wanted to create not only a place to live, but also a refuge for the senses. The space was to reflect the beauty and harmony of the Mediterranean nature. To achieve the desired effect, the designer opted for warm earthy colours. Every detail was important here. You can see materials that allude to the landscape of the region – warm-toned wood and delicate linen fabrics that ripple lightly like sea waves in the glare of the afternoon sun. Their organic texture envelops the space in softness, creating an aura of cosiness, as if nature itself had entered the thresholds of this house.
The furniture set here was mostly made by Portuguese craftsmen. Some comes from local Spanish suppliers. The focal point of the living room is the relief hanging above the sofa. Created by the Polish Ladnini studio, the work is a tribute to art – the three-dimensional, subtle form invites contemplation, drawing the eye and delighting with its quiet power.
Detailing the interior is ceramics by Ula Michalak, whose forms add lightness to the space. Each vase, bowl or platter introduces a touch of elegance. The walls of the flat are decorated with wallpaper and stucco from the Arcydom showroom in Wrocław.
These artistic touches, inspired by both the Mediterranean landscape and modern design, give the interior a unique character that constantly balances between tradition and modernity. Wallpapers from renowned brands London Art and Arte enliven the space with subtle patterns that, like the fabrics of life, wrap the walls of this unique space, creating a fusion between nature and the work of human hands. Mirrors from Giera Design, strategically placed throughout the flat, reflect light, optically enlarging the space and creating the illusion of endless lightness, the designer describes.
The soothing zone is the bedroom. The most important piece of furniture is the bed by Spanish brand Essenzia Dormire. A highlight of the room is the possibility of direct access to the terrace overlooking the sea. Mornings with such a landscape outside the window are another asset of the interior.
The flat in Spain arranged by Kristina Bysko is an example of discreet elegance, which is meant to be a tribute to the Mediterranean landscape. The large windows offer a view of the picturesque Costa Blanca. Time seems to flow more slowly here, each day becoming an invitation to stop, take a deep breath and enjoy the moment.
