On the green outskirts of Vilnius, a project was realised for a single-storey house with an area of 214 sq m, whose architecture boldly departs from the traditional forms we know. The basis of the composition created by the G. Natkevičius & Partners is the atypical projection, consistently developed throughout the body of the building. It is this that defines the character of the interiors and the way in which the triangular house interacts with its surroundings.
The geometric concept is not limited to the plan. It is also clearly emphasised in the form of the building, whose horizontal dynamics give the impression that the construction cuts through the terrain. The flat roof rises slightly towards the south, giving the whole a gentle movement and at the same time performing a practical function by allowing rainwater to drain away. A characteristic vertical accent is the narrow skylight running through the roof above the main corridor. It resembles a cut of light that enhances the entrance area and leads the eye deeper into the house.
The basis for the composition of all the facades is the principle of contrast – these reflect the internal layout. The north wall, visible from the entrance, is almost completely enclosed. Its monolithic surface is made up of concrete with a clear texture, interrupted only by the entrance niche in which a glass portal is set. This emphasises the introverted nature of the frontage and ensures privacy for the residents.

A completely different mood prevails on the south-west and east sides, where the house opens up onto the green landscape. Extensive glazing in slender, dark aluminium frames fills the interiors with natural light and visually connects them to the garden. The transparency of these facades blurs the boundary between inside and outside, creating a seamless transition between the two spheres. The limited palette of materials – concrete, glass and metal – emphasises the form and weight of the geometric concept.
The diligence of the architects at G. Natkevičius & Partners is also evident in the interiors, where the minimalist aesthetic of the building continues. Every detail is governed by the principle of simplicity and harmony of materials. Minimal means of expression, precise details and conscious handling of light create a triangular house with a clear concept and a strong, modern expression.
