The 79-square-metre split-level flat, designed by Weronika Baszak of LOOKSFERY Studio, is an example of a modern approach to interior design, in which expressive colours interweave with raw materials such as steel and microcement. The white walls provide the perfect background for colourful accents, emphasising the unique character of the whole.
Modern staircase and open space
As part of the refurbishment, the awkward wooden staircase was replaced by a new staircase, divided into two parts: a monolithic one in white and an openwork one painted in an intense shade of orange. This solution not only improved functionality, but also brought dynamism and lightness to the interior. One of the key elements of the project was also the creation of an entrance area, which was originally missing from the flat. The new space allowed for better organisation, providing space for storage and hiding the electrical box. What’s more, by giving it a deep blue colour, it became the dominant visual accent of the flat. To further open up the interior and bring in more light, the partition wall was removed. In its place, a low wall of foxgloves appeared, subtly separating the kitchen from the living room, but at the same time not restricting the flow of natural light.
Mirrors in interior design
Mirrors have become a key design element, emphasising the spaciousness and adding a unique character to the interior. Mirrored plinths under the kitchen cabinets make the furniture appear to float in the air, giving the whole space a lightness. The same treatment has been applied to the kitchen hood, so that it blends in perfectly with the interior design.
The bathroom as a space full of energy and fun
The bathroom design proves that a usable space can be both functional and full of fun. Orange grout, pink neon, colourful ceramics and an unusual toilet brush in the shape of a sprouting plant create a bold but harmonious whole. This interior is a perfect example of a creative approach to design, where diverse elements work together in a framework of ‘controlled madness’.
Poster gallery and modern solutions
The owner of the flat has always dreamed of having a poster gallery, so their appropriate display was a key element of the project. The posters were hung on the wall adjacent to the staircase, creating a striking decoration. The TV set was perfectly integrated into the arrangement – its model, adjacent to the wall, resembles an interactive painting, fitting into the artistic character of the whole.
Bedroom – cosiness of the attic
The attic is always associated with cosiness and a unique atmosphere, which is why it has always been the ideal place for a bedroom. The distinctive sloping roof gives the interior an intimate feel, conducive to relaxation. The colours and textures, although recurring in other parts of the flat, have been toned down here, creating a calm and harmonious place to relax.
Showroom-style wardrobe
Due to the owner’s passion for fashion, the dressing room had to stand out from the standard solutions. The design was based on the division of the space into a display and a hidden area, and the whole was to resemble a showroom rather than a classic dressing room. The arrangement included a large mirror, neon lights, glossy tiles and unique elements such as vintage chairs and a laboratory trolley used as a dressing table. This proves that furniture does not have to be used for its original purpose.
A two-storey flat full of colour and contrasts
Weronika Baszak’s design presents a combination of bold concepts and functional solutions. Energetic colours, contrasting materials and a creative approach to space make the flat exude a unique character. It is an interior that simultaneously delights with its boldness and provides comfort for everyday use.
