A two-room flat with an area of approximately 35 square metres has been created in the new Park Kochanowskiego development in Bielsko-Biała. The design was prepared by Ewelina Matyjasik-Lewandowska, who focused on bright interiors inspired by mid-century modern, with strong accents, a functional layout and high-quality materials.
Functionality in less than 35 square metres
The flat has a compact, well-thought-out layout. It consists of a living room with a kitchenette, a separate bedroom, a bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hallway with storage space. Two exits to the balcony, accessible from the living room and bedroom, are a rarity in such a small space. Each zone has a clearly defined function, which improves the comfort of everyday use. The layout facilitates a convenient division into a living area and a private area.
Mid-century modern in a light version
The design is based on mid-century modern aesthetics, in a refreshed interpretation. The interior is dominated by simple forms, dark wood and natural fabrics. Beiges and warm browns are combined with graphite and black, introducing subtle elegance and expressiveness to the arrangement. The architect wanted to achieve an effect of lightness and harmony, noticeable from the moment you enter the flat. The decor is consistent and orderly, without excessive decoration.

Bright living space
The living area is open and well-lit thanks to large windows and doors leading to the balcony. The living room features furniture with simple, geometric forms: a wooden table, light chairs, a minimalist sofa and coffee tables. These are complemented by graphics, plants and designer lighting, including the Vertigo lamp and the Hobby Spinne model. The Crosley turntable adds a touch of atmosphere. The kitchen is decorated in light colours. Smooth fronts, black handles and a minimalist design ensure that the open cooking area does not dominate the living room.
Bedroom and bathroom inspired by mid-century modern
The bedroom has been separated as a separate, quiet room with access to the balcony. It features a bed with a woven headboard, soft fabrics and subtle lighting conducive to relaxation. The colour scheme is based on beiges, wood and greys, creating a subdued backdrop for relaxation. The small bathroom has a bright, elegant setting. It features stone-textured tiles, simple fittings and minimalist built-in furniture providing plenty of storage space. The spacious walk-in shower makes everyday use easier.
