An eclectic interior in the Podhale region. It is a space full of energy

The interior was designed by Pola Sięka of the Takie Wnętrze studio. Her task was to divide a large flat into two smaller ones, which, despite their smaller size, would offer everything necessary. An eclectic interior was created in Podhale, which can be rented out.

Colourful Asylum is a design for two flats in Podhale, which was created by dividing one large space. The architect deliberately avoided motifs characteristic of the region such as mountain ornaments or folk decorations; the flats were meant to be completely different.

The owner of the flats is interested in architecture and design, and prepared inspiration boards to help the designer with her work.

When I saw her inspiration boards, I was extremely pleased, I knew it would be a flat that would not lack colour, ” says Pola Sięka.

Two separate flats have been separated from one apartment building for short-term rental. In both flats, the leading colour is red. In the studio flat, the red can be seen in the kitchen décor, and in the flat with a mezzanine floor, it is the intense colour on the wall that catches the eye. The décor of this flat breaks the mould. The interior was designed to fully reflect the personality of the investor. Therefore, in addition to the colour used, the rest of the interior is simple and subdued. It forms the background for sophisticated furniture and appliances.

There is a smaller studio apartment, which has a kitchenette and a sofa bed. Upstairs there is a larger flat with a mezzanine floor. The existing slant there was quite a challenge, but it was possible to make use of the space available here.

The design work was preceded by an analysis of the functional layout.

An important element in my designs is to obtain as much storage space as possible, so a lot of furniture built-ins were created by a local carpenter to measure,” adds the designer.

The two bathrooms are also distinctive. In the studio, the bathroom is decorated with tiles in a brick shade with printed geometric patterns from Marazzi. Upstairs, on the other hand, the room is distinguished by tiles in shades of blue, also with a geometric pattern from the same manufacturer. This is complemented by the brushed gold taps.

The result is an eclectic interior that breaks out of the pattern of Podhale interiors.
