An exhibition like the inside of a house. This space is a feast for the senses

Estar de Encantos Deca, designed by Bianca Rieg, is a kind of aesthetic journey through an interior that exudes positive energy and beautiful design. The interior was created as part of the CASACOR Santa Catarina festival in Brazil.

Created as a welcoming and immersive space, Estar de Encantos Deca by architect Bianca Rieg, invites visitors on a journey full of pleasant stimuli as part of the largest exhibition of interior design and architecture. At approximately 95 square metres, the design combines functionality with openness, encouraging relaxation and free interaction through a carefully planned layout of circulation paths.

Referring to this year’s theme ‘Sowing Dreams’, the arrangement transforms the living room into a fertile space of imagination, where design becomes the seed of memories, inspiration and desire. It is an invitation to perceive the home as an extension of the soul – a place where beauty and tenderness blossom in every detail. Each corner is meant to evoke a range of feelings: from awe to nostalgia, with playful elements, tactile materials and symbols reinforcing the notion that this is a space where dreams are not only born, but nurtured.

The designed space combines references to maximalism with retro aesthetics and a theatrical, fairy-tale touch. The result is a visual story that weaves together memory and imagination. Each element is designed to surprise and move, reflecting the outlook of a person who values the warmth of memories, warmth and joy of being at home.

A bold, contrasting colour palette and strong accents of emotional design are key design guidelines. The creative process was based on an emotionally evocative narrative, so that the interior resonates with the imagination. The interior designer’s visual inspiration came from private archives, old magazines, films and photographs, evoking quieter times.

Among the most interesting solutions are the surprising combinations of materials: wallpaper with a cotton twig motif on the ceiling and in the dressing room, handmade wall lamps wrapped in jute threads and floor tiles used like carpets. The design harmoniously combines technology, sustainability and art, playing with contrasts of natural textures and sophisticated details. Pastel blues, shades of pink and earth tones are broken by the unexpected, intense red light of the lamps.

A porcelain soup tureen from the 1950s, an heirloom from the designer’s grandmother, is particularly significant. Delicately chipped by time, it evokes family gatherings, care and hospitality at the table. By incorporating it into the arrangement, the architect creates a poetic transition between past and present, paying homage to her roots in a modern twist.

There is no shortage of expressive objects in the design: Louis XV-style armchairs in new red and white stripes, emotive vintage finds and works by artists of a younger generation. For Estar de Encantos, original, hand-woven sconces were made from natural materials. Among these, the red Sacurá pendant lamp by Cris Bertolucci stands out in particular, accompanied by works by José Gonçalves and the iconic Tajá armchair by Sergio Rodrigues.

Technology blends in unobtrusively here: the Orbe touchless faucet from Deca takes care of water saving and elegance of form, while the Deca Funstation sink with bamboo accessories brings order and charm to the kitchen. A multi-layered lighting system makes it possible to prepare different lighting scenes. The exhibition can be seen until 10 August 2025.
