Karolina Wilgucka-Burzyńska of Projektive Studio designed an intimate flat in a pre-war Kołobrzeg tenement. She turned an interior of approximately 43 square metres into an elegant, orderly living space. Its main features are quality, details and thoughtfully chosen materials.
An intimate flat without compromises
The realisation was created as an example of a mature approach to arranging a limited space. Minimalist means of expression go hand in hand with comfort and a sense of proportion. The architect focused on creating a visually coherent interior, in which every element has its place and logical justification. Instead of showy forms, there is precision and attention to the overall composition.
A consistent palette and a play of textures
One of the most important measures was to limit the colour scheme. The narrow colour palette made it possible to highlight the structures and materials that build up the depth of the arrangement. The same shades recur in different finishes: in fabrics, wood and stone and ceramic surfaces. This juxtaposition introduces visual layering to the flat, while maintaining calm and balance.
An intimate flat subordinate to everyday life
The layout of the flat has been developed with great care in order to ensure a high level of comfort even with a small area. The individual zones are clear and well-organised, and the design solutions present aesthetics and practicality. Lighting plays an important role, accentuating the textures of the materials and creating a soft, intimate atmosphere. This is exactly what the owner had in mind.
Small footprint to suit the owner
The project was designed for a young person who is interested in fashion and consciously shapes her environment. The space of the flat reflects her sensitivity to design and her conviction that true elegance comes from coherence, moderation and consistency. Furnishings and finishing details were chosen with care, with no room for randomness.
