An office inspired by the universe? We take a look inside the Pikseo agency in Toruń.

The new headquarters of the Pikseo agency in Toruń is a project that avoids easy associations and decorative clichés. Instead of literal stars, rockets or planets, it features space understood as a metaphor – a space of processes, flows and dependencies that define the modern world of data. It is in this abstract, analytical universe that Pikseo, an agency specialising in SEO and CRO, operates on a daily basis. Toruń, the city of Copernicus, became a natural starting point: a place that for centuries has symbolised a change of perspective and the discovery of order where chaos previously reigned.

The interior design was created by Aleksandra Hyz and Aleksandra Mętlewicz. The architects developed a concept in which the cosmic narrative was translated into the language of form, material and light. The design does not dazzle with symbolism – instead, it uses subtle references to create a coherent, multi-layered structure of space. Each floor of the building functions as a separate fragment of the universe, with its own colour scheme and specific atmosphere. These differences are not merely aesthetic: they support orientation, organise functions and respond to the diverse needs of the team – from concentration and individual work, through conceptual activities, to regeneration and integration.

Materials and light play a key role in the narrative of the design. Metallic surfaces with different textures, undulating ceilings, rounded forms and precisely designed lighting create the impression of a space that is dynamic but not overwhelming. Graphic motifs inspired by orbits and trajectories appear in a controlled manner, as delicate accents that complement the architecture rather than dominate it.

The open spaces are designed as bright, orderly working environments. Large glazing, attention to acoustics and the soft lines of acoustic ceilings create conditions conducive to concentration. The cosmic narrative is muted here, present only in the details: rounded forms, metallic accents, arched wall graphics and the colour scheme assigned to each floor. Symbolic references also appear in the lighting fixtures, neon signs and acoustic panels, creating a consistent but unobtrusive visual language.

The canteens and conference rooms, named after planets – Mars, Mercury and so on – have a more clearly defined character. Each of them has its own identity, built through materials, colours and lighting scenarios. During the day, they are bright, functional meeting spaces, but when the lighting changes, they take on a more intimate, saturated and abstract character. This variability allows users to experience the office in different ways, depending on the time of day and the type of activity.

The Nebula and Aurora zones are flexible environments for collaborative and individual work. Nebula is a sequence of small meeting rooms, repetitive but not identical – differing in nuances of light, colour and material. Their rhythm and subtle differences evoke associations with cosmic phenomena, which are never fully symmetrical, although they are subject to common principles. Aurora, on the other hand, offers a more open space, conducive to quick consultations and work in smaller teams.

The most representative part of the headquarters is the ground floor – the first point of contact with the brand. The reception area, decorated in dark tones, broken up by metallic surfaces with varied finishes, creates an atmosphere of mystery and precision. The lighting here acts as a narrative: it does not reveal everything, but guides the eye, emphasising key elements. The spherical fixtures evoke associations with planets, and the undulating lines of light suggest movement and energy.

The canteen on the ground floor has been designed as a space for everyday meetings, rest and recreation. Instead of a typical canteen, a place with different zones has been created – for meals, relaxation and games. Functionality remains the priority here, and the cosmic idea appears in the details: neon lights, irregular lines of light and metallic accents.

The whole creates a working environment that does not operate with literalism, but with ideas. Here, the universe becomes a metaphor for order, dynamics and the constant search for new perspectives – values close to both Toruń and the Pikseo agency itself. It is a project that combines narrative, functionality and user experience into a coherent, multi-layered whole.

The project was made possible thanks to cooperation with experienced partners. The general contractor Tombud was responsible for the precision of the execution. Acoustic comfort was ensured by Acustio solutions, whose panels became an integral part of the aesthetics. The flooring was supplied by Profitline, using products from Milliken and the Unilin Group. The furniture comes from Balma, Noti and MDD, and the lighting from Luxion and 9design. The distinctive undulating ceilings were created in collaboration with Hunter Douglas, while the custom-made furniture was made by MDF Group.
