Glenfiddich presents the latest variant in its Grand Series collection, Grand Château, which unconventionally combines two worlds while challenging conventions. The bottle packaging was designed by André Saraiva. In his characteristic way, the French artist has created graphics that combine the brand’s history with its contemporary expression.
The latest limited edition Glenfiddich was matured for 31 years, first in American oak for 22 years and then finished in Bordeaux red wine casks for nine years, to which it owes its unique combination of flavours. Caramelised cherries and apples complement the spicy accents – Glenfiddich’s classic fruity character is balanced with notes of oak and warm, soothing vanilla. This limited edition and the methods used in its production establish the brand as a pioneer. At the same time, Grand Château, as the Grand Series usually does, allows for a clash of different world cultures in the single malt world, in this case Scottish and French, positioning luxury in a new place.
The outer packaging bears references to Toile de Juoy, a type of cloth decorated with idyllic genre scenes originating in 18th century France. The Glenfiddich brand has also invited André Saraiva to collaborate, who brings a distinctive, iconic and distinctive style. The internationally renowned French artist has been a pioneer in the world of street art since the 1980s, a turning point in the history of street art. It was then that André created his graffiti character, now an icon – Mr A. He was the first graffiti artist Saraiva painted a cartoon character instead of traditional initials, quickly gaining popularity and becoming the most active street artist in Paris.

The collaboration pays tribute to the Glenfiddich brand’s relationship with art. André Saraiva designed the original inner packaging for Glenfiddich Grand Château whisky, depicting the artist’s dream world. In addition, the brand has also released a limited edition, The Artist’s Edition, of 250 available worldwide, where André’s artwork is also depicted on the outer packaging. It features a recognisable image of the graffiti character Mr A, who travels with a cask through the streets of Paris. Both versions of Glenfiddich Grand Château have a collector’s value about them, and the version with the Mr. A figure, available in limited numbers, takes on even more importance.
