Botany enthusiasts and LEGO fans can now immerse themselves in the calming beauty of a Victorian-style botanical garden. The LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden consists of 3,792 pieces and allows builders to explore a meticulously crafted greenhouse with three atriums, each filled with meticulous details and over 35 species of plants. Whether you are an experienced gardener or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, this set offers an enjoyable escape into the world of flora and fauna.
The main atrium contains a spiral staircase leading to an observation deck with breathtaking views of two large exotic trees. Two smaller atriums house a dry garden with impressive cacti and a cosy café where guests can relax. Externally, the gardens are adorned with colourful peonies and other vibrant plants, creating a picturesque setting ideal for display.
The set was designed by Italian LEGO fan, Valentina Bima, as part of the LEGO Ideas programme. Once designed, 10,000 people voted to turn Valentina’s idea into a real set. Speaking about her project, Valentina said: “I have been a fan of building with LEGO bricks since I was a child and I wanted to create a concept that combined my love of botanical gardens and my favourite element – the transparent components. They help to blur the line between inside and outside, allowing you to build buildings, vehicles, spaceships or anything you can imagine. This makes for an enjoyable and fascinating form that allows you to see the internal details and the LEGO minifigures.”
The set includes 12 LEGO minifigures, the most ever in a LEGO Ideas set, including four staff members (a manager, two gardeners and a barista) and various visitors. In addition, the set includes a variety of animal figures to bring the botanical garden to life: a dog, a squirrel, a rabbit, four bird figures and a beetle.
The LEGO Ideas Botanical Garden set is available at www.LEGO.com/Garden and in LEGO shops from 4 November, priced at £1449.99.
