BEADS is one of the most striking new additions to the AQForm 2026–2027 catalogue: a family of decorative luminaires designed in collaboration with Maciej Ferenc, centred around the bead motif. BEADS is available as a single luminaire, ready-made horizontal and vertical compositions, and a busbar-based system, forming a cohesive family of solutions offering a wide range of design possibilities.
Individual shades: sphere, cone and disc in five variations
The collection is based on three basic shade shapes – sphere, cone and disc – which, in single or double versions, offer five luminaire variants: ball, cone, disc, ovo and cumulus. The power output of the individual models ranges from 7 W (disc, 970 lm) to 14 W (cumulus, 1,941 lm), with a choice of colour temperatures of 2,700, 3,000 or 4,000 K and ON/OFF, switchDIM or DALI control. The durability of the lampshades stems from a combination of high-quality materials and proven technological solutions.
The shades are available in four finishes: opal and transparent – graphite, fuchsia and indigo. The opal versions cast a soft glow over their surroundings and are ideal for use by a table or bedside, whilst the transparent versions emphasise the form itself more strongly and remain striking even when the light is switched off. The metal parts of the luminaire can also be chosen in eight colours – ranging from white and black to burgundy, terracotta, sand, taupe, grey and gold.
Ready-made compositions: horiz line and vert line
In the BEADS collection, the bead motif is not only the shape of the shade but also the way the luminaire is assembled – just as beads are strung in selected colours, shapes and sequences, so too are the ‘horiz line’ (horizontal) 120 cm and 200 cm and ‘vert line’ (vertical) 120 cm, which combine several lampshades on a shared rail. In this version, the structure is available in black.
The more shades there are in the opal version, the more even and efficient the light becomes – such compositions work well above a table, a kitchen island or a countertop, where effective illumination of the worktop is essential. The transparent versions, above all, create an elegant rhythm.
System version: modularity on a track
BEADS also functions as a system luminaire. The design is based on the oval version of the microtrack busbar, available in horizontal or vertical configurations. The number, shape and colour of the shades can be chosen freely, and the entire composition can be easily expanded or altered without replacing the installation. At any time, you can add another shade, change its shape, or move the entire assembly to a new location. Other microtrack-compatible luminaires, such as PET mini or RAFTER mini points, can be connected to the same track, allowing you to create additional layers of light.
This ease of reconfiguration is particularly important in venues that regularly change their décor – such as restaurants, cafés or event spaces. A seasonal change of mood or decoration for a specific event helps shape the venue’s image. All you need to do is rearrange the shades into a different combination of colours and shapes, or add more to the existing composition. The same track system that today creates a subtle opal composition above the bar may, in the next season, showcase transparent, colourful lampshades as part of the seasonal décor.
The strength of BEADS lies in the fact that the bead motif works on three levels simultaneously – as a single accent, an elaborate composition, and a system that can be freely reconfigured as the needs of the interior change. The choice of shape, colour and scale therefore remains open and is not limited to a single, predetermined arrangement. This offers great design freedom and scope for creativity.
