It is 54 sqm and was created as a short-term rental space. The ascetic flat is located in an old building in Mokotów, Warsaw. Its interior was designed by architects from the Loft Kolasinski studio, who are also responsible for the original furniture decorating the space.
The flat is located in a tenement building dating back to 1886. When designing the space, the architects were aware of the historical value, which is why they created a minimalist interior whose details loosely allude to the past. The flat required a general refurbishment, which provided an opportunity to evoke classic interiors in a newer guise. The renovation had to combine care for the historical qualities of the tenement with the need to create a friendly, luxurious flat. The result was a place where tradition meets innovative solutions, creating a space with soul and character.
Natural materials and design harmony
The interior design is dominated by natural materials – wood, wool, linen, stone – which bring warmth, authenticity and cosiness. Their use not only emphasises the ecological character of the design, but also makes each interior element seem to tell its own story. Natural textures and colours work together to create a space where aesthetics go hand in hand with comfort.
The designers from Loft Kolasinski designed wardrobes as well as kitchen and bathroom furniture especially for this flat, which perfectly match the modern vision. The whole is complemented by a carefully selected collection of furniture, lamps and accessories, chosen from among the proposals of Danish, Czech and Polish designers. Treated in this way, the space has acquired an individual style and eclectic character.
In the vintage spirit
Some exceptional vintage pieces were also introduced into the interior design. The furniture and lamps, having been professionally restored, have regained their former lustre, creating a unique story of passing fashions and craftsmanship. A pair of unique, collectible armchairs, produced in the late 1950s and early 1960s, attracts particular attention. This furniture is not only a functional piece of furniture, but also a symbol of the aesthetics of yesteryear. Their selection is based on a limited colour palette, which made it possible to create an almost ascetic flat.
The artistic dimension of the interior cannot be forgotten. In the living room, a poster from Erwin Olaf’s exhibition was hung as a unique decorative detail. This is a conscious choice that emphasises the sensitivity to art and helps to give the space a slightly more personal touch. Such a touch is a reminder that even in a flat intended mainly for short-term rental, it is possible to create an original atmosphere.
