Architects Klaudia Utracik and Paulina Sobczyk of Klu Studio designed an interior for the couple and their cat that exudes calm and pleasant warmth. The space is based on a juxtaposition of natural wood with shades of beige, and the whole is enlivened by blue accents and orange details. The focal point of the Wrocław flat is a striking portal leading to the living area. This is an atmospheric project in which every element has been adapted to the rhythm of life of the residents.
At first, the project seemed simple. The premises in their development state did not suggest any difficulties, but unexpected complications arose during the implementation. Despite minor obstacles, the work progressed in a friendly atmosphere, and the trust and commitment of the investors allowed the project to be brought to completion without losing the original vision. The first stage was to analyse the function of the rooms. It was then decided to knock down a wall in the study, which also serves as a home office. This change improved the access of daylight to the corridor and meant that the space now has a more open feel.
The portal leading into the living room has become one of the most recognisable elements of the project. It is a decorative plasterboard form that required a great deal of precision. It gives the flat its focal point and a slightly sculptural expression. In the flat, the designers used a system of mirrors placed in key locations. They reflect light and brighten up the interior, especially the corridor and kitchen, and make the rooms appear larger and more open.
The kitchen décor is based on proprietary tiles arranged in a mosaic of tiny ‘pixels’. Their pattern was designed specifically for this interior. The furniture cabinets are enriched with delicate decorative motifs in the form of frilled edges and curved details, which visually soften the modern character of the arrangement.

In the bathroom, attention is drawn to an ingenious detail, namely a border of white tiles filled with a beige base. This is a subtle but very significant treatment, as the interior now has an elegant rhythm. In the bedroom, the designers proposed a custom ceiling with a sculptural form. He too was made of plasterboard, creating a delicate play of light and shadow.
The colour scheme of the flat was based on calm tones of beige and wood. Blue accents and orange accessories have also been introduced here to enliven this apparent calm. The result of the work of the architects at Klu Studio is a highly refined and atmospheric project, ideal for those seeking homely warmth and aesthetic balance.
