The “DUET 23” project was created for a young, active couple who wanted something more than just a functional flat in the city centre. Their home was to reflect their mood, personality and lifestyle – dynamic, but at the same time in need of balance. The result is a light and casual interior that provides comfort and a sense of privacy.
The idea was to create a space that you always want to return to. Bright, calm and cosy – a kind of refuge from the intense rhythm of everyday life.
Summer regardless of the weather
The climate in Warsaw can be demanding – especially for people who are sensitive to a lack of sunshine. The investors openly talked about the need for light and warmth, which are often lacking outside the window. The answer was the concept of “eternal summer” – an atmosphere that remains in the apartment regardless of the weather.
Colour played a key role. The design is based on a bold combination of yellow and blue. At first glance, this duo may seem demanding – intense, expressive, difficult to tame in everyday use. In practice, however, it proved to be a tool for building energy and light.
Bold colours, calm proportions
Yellow brings warmth and optimism, blue – freshness and breath. However, the key to harmony was not the palette itself, but working with its saturation, proportions and tones. The right balance of colours meant that the interior was not overwhelming, but remained coherent and visually light.
The DUET 23 project proves that even intense colours can create a timeless space. With conscious use of scale and light, the composition remains balanced, and the energy of the colours does not tire the eye in the long run.
Flexibility inherent in the design
An important element of the concept was the possibility of the interior’s evolution. A well-thought-out colour base allows new accents to be introduced without the risk of disrupting the composition. Additional shades, textiles and details do not compete with the main idea – on the contrary, they reinforce its harmony.
This is a flat that matures with its owners. It can change with their needs, pace of life or aesthetic fascinations, without losing its identity.
A refuge in the urban rhythm
DUET 23 is a project with a distinct character, but without exaggeration. Energetic, yet calm. Bold, yet consistent. The 74-square-metre apartment has managed to create a space that combines emotion with functionality – summer light with everyday comfort.
This interior proves that colour – even intense colour – can become the foundation of harmony. All you need to do is give it the right rhythm.
