It has a total of 525 sq m. The braided house is located in the Ursynów district of Warsaw. Its dynamic form gives the impression of a modern villa. This effect was achieved by combining two buildings that offer a comfortable living space.
The braided house was designed by architects from the MORELEWSKA WOJCIESZEK studio. Built in 2024, the building is located on a narrow plot between intensive terraced housing and intimate Ursynów villas.
The house is distinguished by a modern silhouette with a cascading design. The massive and compact body of each of the building’s two units has been sculpted to take the form of a light pavilion. The full façades provide a sense of privacy and protect the occupants from the view of the neighbouring building users. The glazed facades, on the other hand, have been placed in locations that provide an influx of natural light. They have been oriented towards the south-west side, allowing the warm colour of the setting sun to enter.
The building was given a shape that resulted from the limitations of the plot. However, the architects managed to make use of the available land and designed the layout of the rooms in an optimal way. Each of the two units has the same functional layout, although organised in a slightly different way.
The austere, simple form of the house has been warmed up with natural materials. The whole has taken on a friendly character. The architects have succeeded in realising the idea of intertwined private enclaves on an intimate scale, where nature interacts with what is inside.
