Its design was created by the Trabendo studio. The house was created with rest and recreation in the Bory Tucholskie Mountains in mind. The modern and minimalist architecture is intended to make the building fit in well with the green surroundings.
Such a building can be used by a large family. The architects designed it in such a way that the interior is divided into spaces that can be used by family members. A space for grandparents has been designed in one wing, a space for children in the other, and a communal space has been created on the ground floor of the central area. The parents, on the other hand, can use the mezzanine floor.
The house was built for an artistic family who likes to spend their free time surrounded by nature. The building was constructed in a village among the Tuchola forests. It is an all-year-round refuge that can also be used in winter. Like a forest holiday resort, the house offers the opportunity to get in touch with nature, slow down and calm down.
The facades of the building were designed from wood and corrugated board. This choice of materials visually blends in with the surroundings. By breaking up the volume into smaller sections, the scale of the existing buildings in the neighbourhood was maintained. Over the years, the wooden façade of the building will darken. In this way, the house will blend even more with its surroundings.
The division into blocks reflects the functional division of the interior into separate spaces – the grandparents’ part in the form of an adjoining annex, the part with the children’s bedrooms and the common area with the parents’ bedroom on the mezzanine floor. The three interpenetrating volumes create ONE HOUSE – a meeting place and holiday retreat for a multi-generational family,” describe the project’s authors.
The house was located on an elongated plot and placed in its extreme part. The total area of the building is 140 square metres.
