Bydgoszcz chce ukryć skrzynki elektryczne

Bydgoszcz wants to ‘hide’ electrical boxes. Decorate them with historical photos!

Bydgoszcz wants to disguise its electrical boxes by decorating them with historic photographs to take residents on a sentimental journey into the past. As part of a pilot scheme, the appearance of the first electrical switchboards in Bartodziejy was transformed. What do you think, will the idea catch on and be implemented in other cities as well?

Meetings have been held in recent months with the participation of, among others, the City Planner and representatives of municipal companies on the issue of power and control boxes, which accompany many municipal investments. We have worked out a new solution, which we are piloting in Bartodziejach. We are going to paste the boxes, which need to be easily accessible, with historical photographs.

To begin with, a graphic with a historical photo of the housing estate has been placed on the ZDMIKP box near the junction of Kamienna and S. Wyszyńskiego streets. It shows the Balaton area in the 1970s. In the coming weeks, we will check whether the chosen way of displaying the graphics is sustainable and how the initiative is perceived by residents. This will form the basis for commissioning further such work at other points in the city and for further developments involving the installation of distributors and meters in representative locations.

Previously, we have also used other solutions to conceal the additional control and metering infrastructure, for example by building in panels or changing the colour of the boxes.

Czy uważasz, że takie ozdobienie rozdzielni elektrycznych to dobry pomysł?
