Café ōsma rano in Krakow designed by Nawer

Interior design today is much more than simply design itself. It is a conscious interplay of materials, light and the context of a place – but also increasingly a field of dialogue between architecture and art. This is precisely the approach promoted by the Tubądzin Group as part of the Tubądzin Meets Art initiative, which aims to support artists in the realisation of bold, multi-layered spaces. The ōsma rano restaurant project, created in the centre of Kraków by multidisciplinary artist Łukasz Nawer Habiera, is a perfect example of this philosophy.

ōsma rano is an interior in which the Tubądzin Group collections played a key role in building the atmosphere of the place. Thanks to the conscious use of textures, formats and tones, a space with a distinctive character was created, combining industrial minimalism with the spirit of an art gallery.

The interior of ōma morning is a space full of contrasts: the historical architecture of a neo-Renaissance tenement house meets modern form here. To emphasise these opposites, the designers reached for the Stone Line collection from Tubądzin Group. Large-format tiles with a distinctive stone structure became the backdrop for the monumental body of the bar, standing in opposition to the expressive work of Przemysław Blejzyk, or Sainer. The minimalist pixelated mosaic, juxtaposed with the large-format tiles, is kept in monochromatic tones. This combination of subtle surface drawing with the intensity of fine art creates a distinct but unobtrusive effect.

The collaboration on the project was a continuation of the long-standing relationship between the artist, Lukasz Nawer Habiera, and the restorers:

‘We have known each other for many years with the owners – Dominika and Zbyszek – and have already worked on several projects. We worked together in the creation of the cult venue Forum Przestrzenie or F:Lato. Our cooperation is always based on complete trust and experience on both sides. After so many years of working together, we understand each other without words – we know each other’s expectations and the needs to be met by the new project ,” says Nawer.

Pure form and colour as the focus

In the bathroom, a simple but bold combination was chosen: black Pastele and Cielo e Terra NERO tiles were juxtaposed with an intense ultramarine grout colour. The result? A modern, rhythmic interior, in which colour becomes a compositional element, not just a decorative one. Such treatments perfectly demonstrate the potential of the Tubądzin collection – not only aesthetically, but also architecturally.

Consistency of material and concept

The use of Tubądzin Group tiles was an integral part of the interior concept from the outset – not as a background, but as a carrier of ideas. In a space full of daylight, raw textures and refined geometry, Tubądzin products not only complement the space but also define its rhythm. The minimalism of the material juxtaposed with its large format and depth of colour creates a strong but not overwhelming message.

Tubądzin – materials with an idea

The Tubądzin Group has for many years supported projects in which the material is not only utilitarian, but also conceptually important. Co-operation with the ōsma morning fits perfectly into this philosophy – a project which required precision, a sense of texture and a skilful balance between aesthetics and functionality. Tubądzin tiles once again became not only a finishing element, but an important means of architectural expression.

We are delighted to be able to carry out such a valuable project as part of the Tubądzin Meets Art initiative. It is not only an aesthetically pleasing space, but also a place that inspires. We are proud that our brand’s products have become part of a concept which so aptly combines art, design and everyday life,” says Magdalena Pisera, Marketing Director of the Tubądzin Group.

The ōsej rano project shows that ceramics can be more than a background – they can co-create the history of a place. This is exactly the direction that the Tubądzin Group is taking.
