LOT Polish Airlines has added a unique chocolate gift, created by DESEO Patisserie & Chocolaterie, to its range. The original Chocorigami set allows you to assemble the famous crane – the symbol of the national carrier – yourself. The project was created entirely in Poland, from the initial concept and design of the moulds through to the production of the chocolate and the assembly of the finished set.
Chocorigami: a chocolate crane
Work on Chocorigami was carried out by the DESEO team, who were responsible for every stage of the project. The company prepared special moulds for casting, produced artisan chocolate and devised a method for assembling all the elements into the shape of the LOT crane. It is then up to the owner of this sweet set to assemble the chocolate pieces themselves. Passengers can therefore treat Chocorigami as a form of entertainment during the flight or take it home as an original souvenir. The individual pieces of the puzzle are made from Togo 42% milk chocolate, produced using the bean-to-bar method. This means that the entire process takes place from the raw cocoa bean right through to the finished product. The beans are sourced from selected plantations across the globe, whilst further processing takes place in Poland.
DESEO: a brand born out of a passion for travel
The story of DESEO began in 2015. The company’s name comes from Spanish and means ‘desire’ or ‘dream’. Behind the brand are Natalia Sitarska and Łukasz Smoliński, travellers and creators of the blog Tasteaway.pl. It was during their trips abroad that they developed an interest in artisanal chocolate and modern confectionery, and they brought the experience they gained to the Polish market. DESEO currently operates six outlets in Warsaw, as well as patisseries in Poznań, Gdańsk, Sopot and Wrocław. Furthermore, since 2020, it has been developing its own ‘bean-to-bar’ chocolate production, creating chocolate bars, sweets, spreads and nut butters, as well as its own range of snacks. The partnership with LOT marks the next stage in their journey and the brand’s development. Thanks to DESEO, Polish confectionery craftsmanship is reaching passengers travelling all over the world.
