Its interior was designed by architects from Architecture OOIIO. The colourful flat is located in the Madrid block. It is 50 square metres in size and has a very long shape. Introducing unusual solutions proved necessary to create an attractive and original place to live.
The design of the flat was created for an investor who wanted non-standard solutions. The artistic flair is intended to express her interests and exemplify the creative use of a standard space in a block of flats.
The colourful arrangement was achieved within an affordable budget.
It is neither a demonstration of craftsmanship nor a utopian manifesto for a return to traditional handiwork. Rather, it is a commitment to originality, uniqueness and personalisation using existing solutions and materials from the market. With standard products, intelligently and creatively arranged, exceptional results can be achieved, the architects describe.
An example is the ceramics used, which as a material is rooted in Spanish culture. In the flat, ceramics have been placed in unobvious places. In the living room area, the ceramic panelling evokes a patio, while the bedroom area extends into the living room, like a cloud in the landscape.
Interestingly, in the interior, a kitchen has been created using built-in units available from IKEA. All elements were combined with carefully selected, well-designed furniture at affordable prices.
