Magda and Tomek’s flat in Rzeszów is proof that a small space can be vibrant and energetic thanks to a harmonious combination of japanese and pastel accents. Even in the entrance, you can feel the designer’s sip of freshness – the subdued wall base is interspersed with the graphic wallpaper of the corridor, and the simple stucco with rounded corners subtly emphasises the style of the space.
The interior of the flat was designed by Weronika Sypułą, who runs her own About the Form studio. The designer focused on a clear functional division. The living room, connected with the kitchen, delights with bold combinations of colours and patterns, but the real star of the space is the large pot marking the boundary between the kitchen and lounge areas. Filled with lush plants, it is a natural accent that brings a breath of freshness to the interior. From the perspective of the living room, the space under the pot has turned into a practical shelf for books and decorations, combining aesthetics with functionality.
The fitting
In a compact flat, every centimetre counts. For this reason, the kitchen cabinetry flows seamlessly into the hallway wardrobe, and the whole remains visually coherent. The clients were initially unconvinced by the bold, geometric wallpaper in the hallway, but it was only the on-site test that dispelled any doubts – the effect proved both practical and highly decorative.
Bathroom in pastel tones
The initial plan was for rectangular, peach-coloured tiles with a wavy texture, but in the end it was decided to opt for matt square tiles in the same shade. After a sample fitting, the metamorphosis became a reality, and the pastel colour works perfectly with the subtle terrazzo also present in the kitchen. Blue and yellow flecks in the flooring introduce a subtle colour accent, linking the two areas of the flat.

A bedroom with a Rzeszów spirit
Two peach-coloured stripes with rounded shapes wrap the walls of the bedroom, creating a pleasant feeling of intimacy. A yellow metal bedside table emphasises the energy of the interior, while a local accent – a poster from the previous flat – completes the whole, reminding us of the roots of the couple living here. The use of elements from Magda and Tomek’s previous collections is proof that a good interior hides in the details that carry a personal story.
If it is possible to use something from the clients’ existing collections, I always try to do so,” Weronika Sypuła concludes.
