German designers Silji and Norbert Beck will take part in the ‘Design Star for Domoteka’ event in Warsaw, where they will talk about their unusual design philosophy. The event will already take place on 19 October at 7 pm at the Domoteka Design Centre. The lecture is open to everyone. The event will be followed by ameeting with the winners of the German Design Award and the Red Dot Award, and the entire event will be accompanied by an exhibition of original works by the Beck Design studio.
“Design Star for Domoteka” is a series of meetings with renowned interior designers, designers and architects organised annually by the Domoteka Design Centre, during which they share their experience and unique design approaches. This year’s edition of the event will already take place on 19 October at Domoteka in Warsaw. This time, the special guests of the event will be the esteemed German designers Silja and Norbert Beck, founders of the Beck Design studio and winners of the most prestigious awards in the industry, such as the Red Dot Award and the German Design Award, among others
On 19 October 2023 at 7 p.m. at the Domoteka Design Centre in Warsaw, Silja and Norbert Beck will give the only lecture in Poland on contemporary design in which authentic craftsmanship inspired by nature still plays a fundamental role
The lecture will be followed by a meeting and discussion with the designers, hosted by Dorota Stępniak. This year’s instalment of the ‘Design Star for Domoteka’ series will also be accompanied by an exhibition of original works by Silja and Norbert Beck. Norbert Beck
Born in 1959, he started out teaching arts and crafts. This was before he founded his own design office in 1988 and started his business as a furniture designer. In the early years he was mainly involved in the creation of dining tables and pull-out systems. He also designed beds, chest furniture and chairs for seetalswiss
Since 1997, he has been working with the Rolf Benz company. As a result of this collaboration, his focus shifted over time to the design of lounge furniture. In 2010, he started a successful collaboration with the Dutch lounge furniture companies LEOLUX and PODE. Beck also collaborates with other furniture manufacturers and, as of 2019, also with Freistil by Rolf Benz
Silja Beck
Born in 1967, she completed her schooling in interior decoration and upholstery before studying architecture. In addition to caring for their three children together, she worked as a freelance colour and interior designer for private clients for several years. Since 2013 she has been working at Beck Design
