Hoovers are no longer appliances that need to be hidden from view, after all, not all flat owners can afford to have a utility room. Fortunately, the Dreame H15S proves that Wet&Dry appliances can be not only functional but also elegant – the black, minimalist body with its straight lines looks like a mobile piece of décor rather than a household appliance. The appliance fits seamlessly into modern interiors, remaining ready for use at all times.
Design and first impression
The hoover is almost all black. Only the discreet red strip on the front of the cleaning foot, which performs an important function, stands out. It is a robotic arm that automatically lowers the module with the rubber squeegee into the water when you reverse the hoover or reach a wall. This ensures better collection of liquids from the floor. In its operation, the hoover uses artificial intelligence that analyses the amount and type of dirt to optimise its work. When we invaded a dirtier part of the floor, the hoover increased the suction power on its own. Another plus of the overall design is the handle, which allows the device’s arm to be directed towards the floor and thus easily reach under low furniture. The special design ensures that not a drop will leak from the clean (700 ml) and dirty water (700 ml) containers. Even if the hoover arm touches the ground.
State-of-the-art technology
The Dreame H15S combines vacuuming and mopping in a single cycle. So there is no need to waste time vacuuming dry and then wet separately. With this appliance, you will do both at the same time. The mopping roller rotates at 480 revolutions per minute and the powerful motor generates up to 21,000 PA of suction. This means effectively picking up both dry and wet dirt. From crushed food crunches to wet dog footprints.
Dreame’s engineers have equipped the unit with TangleCut technology: a special comb cuts the hair and coat on the roller so that it does not settle on the brush. This increases efficiency and reduces the need for manual cleaning.
Self-cleaning is brilliant!
The mop hoovers of the old generations required manual cleaning of the wet cleaning module. The H15S meets this problem, takes care of hygiene and eliminates unpleasant odours by itself. After cleaning the flat, simply put the hoover back into the docking station and then activate the self-cleaning with a single click. The process involves rotating the mop roller back and forth and cleaning it with 90°C water. This temperature will remove even greasy dirt. The roller is then dried with air at a temperature of up to 90°C. During testing, the self-cleaning process took approximately one hour.
Easy operation
The hoover is equipped with a large LED screen with minimalistic but clear icons to indicate its operating status. It is also capable of giving voice messages. We were also able to check the status of the appliance while away from home. This is thanks to the Dreamhome app, which also allows the hoover to be customised, e.g. by adjusting the suction power or the amount of water used. The manufacturer has equipped the hoover with a rechargeable battery that allows up to 50 minutes of operation. This amount of minutes is enough to clean even a large flat.
The hoover is a safe choice for pet owners. The TangleCut function and the suction power can handle hair and dirt after a walk, while the mop system removes mud and wet marks faster than traditional methods. How much does it cost? The Dreame H15S went on sale on 1 October. The suggested list price is £1,999. The price/quality ratio is quite an advantage.
