In Wrocław, in a quiet, green part of the city, an interior was created that combines subtle elegance with expressive personality. Designed by Anna Budzowska of the Buduar studio, the 67-square-metre flat is a space created for a woman who appreciates ambience, noble materials and refined detail.
The flat is located on the ground floor of a multi-family building and has direct access to a private garden, which naturally extends the owner’s living space. The existing functional layout imposed certain limitations: the centrally located bathroom, squeezed between the chimneys and the load-bearing wall, marked the limits of possible changes. Instead of fighting the structure, the designer focused on bringing out the potential of the interior. Removing a section of the wall opened up the perspective right from the threshold, directing the gaze towards the large terrace window and bringing more light into the flat. In place of the former partition, an elegant wardrobe development was created, which organises the space and emphasises its representative character.
The functional layout remained clear: two bedrooms, a spacious living room with kitchenette and convenient storage areas. The kitchen was designed “to measure”, with attention to ergonomics and the quality of materials. The cabinetry made by Biurokoncept fits in with the design aesthetic, creating a coherent, balanced composition. A decorative Raw Decor mosaic appears above the worktop – a small but distinctive accent that acts like jewellery: it catches the eye without dominating the whole. The kitchen peninsula and the dining table serve a dual function – it is both a meeting place and a comfortable work space, overlooking the garden and the terrace, which becomes an additional room in winter and protects the interior from excess sun in summer.

The living area was built on the contrast of a classic base and contemporary accents. An oak floor laid in French herringbone, walnut veneers and stone worktops create an elegant, timeless backdrop. The chairs and hockers from the Adel collection by Italian brand Calligaris stand out clearly against it.
The colour scheme of the flat is based on deep greens and olive tones, which build moodiness and emphasise the intimate character of the space. Wallpapers with floral and fairytale motifs, from Arcydom, give the interior a slightly stylised expression. A delicate wallpaper with owls appears in the children’s room – a subtle nod to the passion of the household and also a narrative element that ties the design together.

The bathroom, kept in a lighter palette, provides a counterbalance to the darker tones of the living area. Olive accents, brushed gold fittings and handles and stone worktops create a home spa atmosphere, where aesthetics and comfort are both important.
Lighting plays an important role in this interior – proprietary onyx lamps emit a warm golden light that softly models the space above the table and peninsula. In the hall and bedroom, hand-formed glass fittings from the Lower Silesian glassworks were used, adding an artisanal nobility to the interior. The whole is tied together by metal details in a brushed brass finish.
The design and realisation process took seven months and also included the arrangement of the terrace and garden. Most of the furniture was custom-made according to Anna Budzowska’s own designs, which made it possible to achieve complete stylistic consistency. The result is an interior in which every element has its place, and where feminine sensitivity manifests itself not in literalness, but in attention to proportion, light and quality of materials. It is a space that is refined, elegant and at the same time everyday – one in which contemporary design naturally meets timeless aesthetics.
