Essence in Gdansk. The façade of the building refers to the history of the site

Esencja is a new residential and commercial development located in a picturesque corner of Gdansk. The Lower Town there has been developing intensively in recent years, becoming an attractive place to live. The Esencja building resembles an urban quarter, the individual parts of which draw on the best examples from the architectural aesthetics of different eras to create an attractive and high-quality development. The project is being developed by Euro Styl.

It is an interesting example of an investment that is being carried out as part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project initiated by the City of Gdańsk. The authorities there are inviting private investors to cooperate, thanks to which they can implement projects involving the revitalisation of the district more quickly and efficiently. This includes not only the construction of buildings, but also road infrastructure or green spaces that can be used by all residents.

Essence is being developed at the junction of Kamienna Grobla and Toruńska streets. The advantage of this location is its proximity to the New Motława. Residents of the flats will be able to enjoy the view of the water and relax on the banks. The architects designing the building proposed an intimate, four-storey development and a dominant feature with three flats slightly higher. An advantage of this solution is the varied façade. The essence looks like an ensemble of several buildings. This variety of forms lends a metropolitan feel and distinguishes Essencja from other residential projects. A total of 101 residential flats of varying sizes will be created inside. The smallest will be around 30 sq m, and the largest as large as 105 sq m. The investor also envisages the creation of ten commercial premises. Shops, bakeries, cafés, restaurants and others will be able to operate here.

In addition, there will be investment flats in Esencja, which will be accessible via a separate entrance lobby and staircase. In total, the developer plans to build 38 such units of various sizes. These flats can be purchased as commercial premises and claim a refund of 23 per cent VAT. With the owners of these units in mind, the investor has prepared a service through which investors can count on maintenance-free lease management. The whole process will be handled by Your Destination experts from the hotel industry.

The prestigious location practically in the centre of Gdańsk, a view of the water, stunning architecture and comfortable flats – these are assets that cannot be overestimated. I am convinced that the offer of premium flats in Essence will very quickly attract the attention of customers, both from the Tri-City and from outside the region. Thanks to this investment and many others that have been and will be built as part of the PPP in the Lower Town, we are creating a qualitative urban fabric, of which as Euro Styl we are very proud,” says Anna Tuszyńska, sales director at Euro Styl.

Essence. The 15-minute city

The location of Essence fits perfectly with the idea of a 15-minute city – future residents will be able to use all the necessary amenities nearby. Educational facilities (primary school, kindergarten), numerous catering outlets, shops, clinics, pharmacies, as well as public transport stops are all within a short distance. It takes only 15 minutes to get to the SKM Gdańsk Śródmieście bus stop. People who often ride bicycles will be pleased with such a location. The growing network of bicycle paths provides an opportunity to spend time actively and to easily reach key points throughout the Tri-City.

When buying a flat or an investment flat in Essencia, you can also enjoy the proximity of the most important monuments of Gdańsk. The Old Town and the Main Town with Długi Targ Street, Artus Court and Neptune’s Fountain or the historic Crane, St. Mary’s Basilica and the Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre… all this is within walking distance.

Historical references

Where did the name Essence come from? The investor, the Euro Styl company, explains that it comes from a liquor bottling plant that used to operate in this place. Therefore, the history of the place is slightly alluded to by the façade, which is reminiscent of ornate pre-war townhouses. The façade will be covered with noble materials in muted shades of grey.

Elegance and timelessness will be imparted by cornices and ornaments around the windows as well as graphite window woodwork, balustrade elements and gates. The historic appearance and former divisions of the townhouses will be reflected in the shades of the facades and the large windows with their characteristic muntin bars. The quadrant character of the development will create an internal courtyard filled with greenery, which will be arranged in the style of pre-war courtyards,” informs Euro Styl.

Despite the proximity of Gdańsk’s attractions, the residents of Essence can count on comfortable places to relax outdoors. The extensive green areas of the Lower City stretch along the Motława River and Bastions. These are places where the tourist bustle does not reach. Those who enjoy exploring the city and nature during canoe trips will also enjoy the proximity of water. This is a great way to get to know Gdańsk from a different perspective.

Additional leisure opportunities will be created by eight viewing stands with descents to the banks of the New Motława, the renovation of which is now nearing completion – this is also an investment by Euro Style, one of the public PPP objectives, the investor adds.

Dolny Gdańsk, which is changing its face, attracts those wishing to enjoy the comfort of living among nature and with close access to the city’s most important attractions. The Esencja investment is part of the idea of revitalising the city and is an example of a place where history meets modernity, creating a unique place to live.
