Apartament na Powiślu

Flat in Powiśle. Discreet luxury designed by the Bajersokół team

A flat has been created in Warsaw’s Powiśle district that escapes the classic categories of living. It does not serve everyday life, but ensures a comfortable stay in the capital during the owner’s visits. The architects from the Bajersokół team studio created a modern and elegant interior, but at the same time without ostentation. It is a space where luxury is defined by consistency, refined details and harmony of materials.

The owners wanted to create a flat that would be an alternative to a hotel, but at the same time provide freedom during their stays in Warsaw. It was not meant to be an everyday apartment, but a comfortable space that allows you to relax alone, with your family or with friends. Architects Hanka Bajer and Paweł Sokół designed the 340 sq m interior, created by combining two units. A direct entrance from the lift leads into the space, the layout of which is based on open plans and smooth transitions between zones. The designers avoided clear boundaries, replacing traditional doors with panels acting as subtle partitions.

Consistency and attention to detail

The Byersokół team places an emphasis on design consistency. Every element has its justifiable place, and technical installations have been incorporated so that they remain invisible. Air conditioners, radiators or switches do not disturb the overall perception. The geometry of the interior is emphasised with vertical accents, which bring order and rhythm to the space. The impression of cleanliness is also due to the elimination of random details. In this way, a balance has been struck between functionality and a sense of luxury that does not exude glamour. The flat is located at treetop level of the neighbouring park. The large-format glazing makes the interiors blend naturally with the greenery and change their character depending on the season. The light colours and natural materials such as stone, wood and steel create a background that harmonises with the views outside the window.

Living area

The living room is divided into a lounge and TV area, to which the kitchen with dining area and study are adjacent. Vertical milling on the limestone wall, openwork panels and shelving divisions consistently repeat the line motif, introducing rhythm and order. Low sofas and tables do not interfere with the views of the park, which remain the main dominant feature of the flat. The interior is complemented by artworks by Agata Hećman and Grzegorz Worpus, as well as sculptures and designer furniture, including Le Club armchairs designed by Jean-Marie Massaud. These elements enhance the artistic character of the arrangement, while maintaining the coherence of the composition.

Kitchen and dining room

The focal point of the kitchen is the marble island, the functionality of which is enhanced by an openwork aluminium segment. The cabinetry in the depth can be hidden behind lacquered MDF fronts to maximise the representative character of the space. Next to the breakfast table is a large table that can comfortably seat up to ten people.

Private area

The private area includes a master bedroom with dressing room and bathroom and two almost symmetrical guest bedrooms, also with their own bathrooms. Subdued colours and a variety of materials, such as textile wallpaper, stone or rolled steel, create an atmosphere of relaxation and intimacy here.

The Powiśle flat and its philosophy

The designers emphasise that the result faithfully reflects the original visualisations. Every detail has been agreed upon and designed with the cohesion of the entire premise in mind. As a result, the Powiśle flat is an example of an interior where aesthetics and functionality coexist in complete harmony.
