Flat in Poznań’s Jeżyce district from Tyma Projekt.

In the heart of bustling Jeżyce, one of the most atmospheric districts of Poznań, an exceptional flat designed by the Tyma Projekt studio was created. The spacious interior, over a hundred metres long, full of light, harmony and refined details, was created with the comfort of the residents, who have been connected with this part of the city for years.

Jeżyce – a place with soul, a project with character

The new owners were looking for a larger space in a familiar location – close to work, playgrounds and the Old Zoo. As soon as the opportunity to purchase premises in a newly constructed building arose, the decision was taken almost immediately. The designers from Tyma Projekt started work as early as the tenant alterations, which made it possible to completely reorganise the layout of the flat.

Removing some partition walls opened up the space and allowed southern light to flood the interior through a balcony overlooking a courtyard with historic plane trees. The result was a flat full of natural light and calm elegance.

Greenery and wood – the leading duo in the flat from Tyma Projekt

Deep emerald has become the flat’s guiding colour. Applied to structured plasterwork, it reflects light in an unobvious way, and its rough texture gives each wall an individual character. Natural wood in a sandy oak shade covers the walls and built-ins, creating a cosy base.

The parquet floor – brushed, bevelled and laid in an elegant Hungarian herringbone pattern – attracts attention. Arches and curves are present throughout the flat – a motif that appears right from the threshold, including in the form of curved tiles that seamlessly connect the kitchen with the rest of the living area.

Careful selection of furnishings and details

The interior exudes quality and solid design. The bent beech armchairs by Fameg are an example of the successful marriage of craftsmanship and design – a Pawlak and Stawarski design awarded the German Design Award. The bookcases and bedside tables were created at the Tamo Design studio, while designer details also arrived in Poznań from Gdynia.

The lighting in the flat deserves special attention – a striking chandelier made of opal glass and green marble by Aromas del Campo, despite an installation mishap, now perfectly illuminates the dining table. The children’s room features a unique wallpaper by Maison Wallcoverings inspired by African nature. And the study – the owner’s dream – received spruce panelling, a wooden ceiling and a bookcase with concealed air-conditioning.

The history of the place permeates the interior

The Jeżyce flat, built on the site of the former “Modena” clothing factory, is an example of how modern architecture and the history of a place can intermingle. Inspiration from the modernist details of the building has been seamlessly transferred to the interior – from the fluting to the soft curves.
