Full 180° — a minimalist shower enclosure that knows no bounds

Taking a bath is a moment of pure pleasure, just for us. The warmth, the steam rising tothe ceiling , the silence. We step under the water and literally let it wash away all our stress. When planning the shower space, we are designing this very moment. The new OXIA shower enclosure collection from New Trendy was created with the aim of setting the scene for it perfectly. Bearing in mind that minimalism is not about insincere restraint. It lies in how well-designed the elements that remain are.

Breathing as part of the design

The name OXIA refers to the word ‘oxygen’. It is a statement about space, not just aesthetics. It is constructed from 8 mm tempered glass and a minimal amount of metal. No element beyond what is absolutely necessary — and this principle is evident in every detail. The transparency of the glass, framed only by delicate fittings, ensures that the bathroom space remains visually cohesive: the texture of the tiles, the warmth of the wood, the raw material of the stone — everything is clear, nothing is interrupted. The boundary is so delicate that it is almost arbitrary.

Doors that open in both directions

The main distinguishing feature of the OXIA collection is a new mechanism that opens the doors to a full 180°.

There is space. There is freedom. Stepping into the shower becomes a gesture, not a manoeuvre. There is no need to measure your steps, step back or look for room for your arm. Whether you step into the shower in the morning with a head full of plans, or in the evening after a long day, you should encounter no resistance along the way. The whole experience has a pleasant fluidity to it.

Doors that open inwards and outwards work well in bathrooms with various spatial configurations. In spaces where every centimetre counts and in spacious interiors, where the sweeping gesture of opening becomes part of the room’s character. The collection is also available as a made-to-measure option, allowing the shower enclosure to be adapted to any layout.

Details that work in the background

Glass and metal are the materials the brand works with – and treats them with the respect that a material that works with light demands. The OXIA collection is available in several finishes — from chrome and black, through the fashionable Brushed Nickel, to brushed shades of gold and copper — allowing for consistency with the taps and other design elements. Even in a minimalist shower enclosure, hinges, brackets and profiles are visible, so it is important how carefully they are designed. The OXIA hinge, flush with the glass, is a beautiful design in its own right.

The support in this collection runs discreetly along the upper edge of the glass. No diagonal elements, no additional stabilisers cutting across the space.

The water-repellent coating ensures that water runs off the glass rather than remaining on it. Limescale and dirt do not build up so easily. This is one of those details you don’t appreciate at the time of purchase, but after a few months, when the glass still looks as good as new. The ability to remove the glass panel allows for thorough cleaning without having to dismantle the entire structure. It is a practical detail that comes to mind after a few years. A good shower enclosure isn’t just one that looks good in the design. It’s one that still looks good a decade later.

Bathing as an important ritual

The bathroom is the space where every day begins and ends. Not necessarily the largest room in the house — but often the most intimate. A place that refreshes us in the morning and helps us start the day with new energy, and in the evening allows us to put aside everything we have carried with us throughout the day. A place of quiet ritual that we repeat thousands of times and which — paradoxically — we rarely design with the same attention we devote to the living room or kitchen.

The OXIA collection from New Trendy is a proposal to change that. Doors that open up to 180°, precisely shaped tempered glass, five metal finishes and a durable coating — all serve a single purpose: to ensure this space is as good as it deserves to be. So that stepping into the shower is something we look forward to, not just a routine. And so that the breath we take under the hot water is truly full.
