Gdansk’s play of colours. Living with colourful design

A couple of investors were looking for a place to spend their weekend stays in Gdańsk and entrusted the preparation of an interior design to the Architekci na Fali studio. The result is a flat in which functional minimalism meets bold design, and a relaxed atmosphere combines with the energy of balanced accents.

The interior design is based on a delicate trio of pink – blue – white, which creates a calm, almost meditative base. This subdued platform allows more expressive elements to appear without upsetting the balance of the interior. The whole space breathes lightness thanks to the thoughtful distribution of tones and the natural light that softly fills the space during the day.

Form and furniture

Modern, simple pieces of furniture have been juxtaposed with soft-line elements. The cabinets have been kept in a spirit of minimalist elegance. In the kitchen and bathroom, lower cabinets are suspended, which adds lightness and makes it easier to keep everything in order. The furniture serves a functional purpose and at the same time introduces a clear architectural rhythm to the interior.

The artistic character of the interior is emphasised by wallpapers by the Polish brand Cogoletto Wallpapers. The patterned surfaces become focal points that give the rooms their original character. Wallpapers act as an architectural image, building a varied background for furniture and furnishings while integrating the style of the entire flat.

Luxspheres as light sculpture

Luxafers appear in the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and dining room and play a dual decorative and architectural role. During the day, they subtly filter light and provide privacy. In the evening, when illuminated, they transform into light sculptures and emphasise the modern character of the space. The glass blocks form effective partitions that separate zones without losing the feeling of openness.

The whole is enlivened by red details that introduce rhythm and coherence. Energetic accents appear consistently – from the fittings and lamps to the radiator and the armchairs – creating a well thought-out colour system. The red acts as a guiding thread, connecting all the rooms into a single composition and giving the interior a character without aggression.

User experience

The interior is designed for short stays full of relaxation and inspiration. Functional solutions facilitate quick meal preparation and relaxation, while aesthetic touches allow the space to feel like a small gallery with everyday utility. The design of Architekci na Wali combines the discipline of minimalism with the boldness of colours and forms, creating a flat that is both comfortable and beautiful.
