The Gentleman Store is a place that combines minimalist design with perfectly chosen details to offer high quality British men’s fashion. The boutique’s interior proves that simplicity can be just as stunning as opulent embellishments when arranged properly.
The renovation of the building, supervised by the architectural studio třiarchitekti, was based on minimal interference with the original structure, while preserving the original character of the interior. Transforming the basement into a commercial space was a key element of this project. The brick and stone walls were uncovered and their raw charm contrasted with a modern, light-coloured polished concrete floor. A significant change was the introduction of a new terrazzo staircase, connecting the basement to the ground floor.
The interior design of the shop was the responsibility of ORA, which opted for minimalism and harmony with the existing architecture. The aim was to create a space that does not overwhelm, while allowing customers to focus on the high-quality products. The furniture was designed to not only look aesthetically pleasing, but also to be functional. Tables made of solid oak, hangers supported on stones or shelves made of simple pieces of sheet metal are both beautiful and practical.
In the Gentleman Store, every item has been made with perfection in mind. The interior avoids glamour and instead relies on raw elegance and attention to detail. Furniture made of solid wood and stone, simple shelves and lightweight hangers invite you to touch, test and fully experience the quality of the products. Every element of the interior design is carefully considered and handmade to emphasise the unique character of the shop.
The designers wanted customers to enjoy discovering more details when visiting the shop. At a second glance, the hidden elegance and finesse of the workmanship can be seen, making a visit to the Gentleman Store more than just a simple shopping experience.
