In Kristina Busko’s projects, you can see elements that directly relate to the location. One example is the house in Spain, the interior of which is the result of her work. The terraced house blends in with the rest of the estate with its architectural fabric, and the colour on the modern façade, thanks to the terracotta tiles, alludes to the tiles. The aura of the place permeates the interior of the building.
In the interior design of the Spanish house, the designer opted for minimalism on the one hand and a maximalist material structure on the other. These include strongly structured plasters, 3D weave wallpaper and beige upholstery fabrics, which are distinguished by their high quality.
The house has two levels. In the living room on the ground floor, you will not find a wall with a television. Instead, space has been created for a projector. It is a minimalist and cosy zone, distinguished by the warm light of the alabaster sconces. The latter were found both in the dining area and in the kitchen above the shelf.
The kitchen fronts were covered with textured plaster and the plinths were made of aged mirror. The living area also featured a dining table, the form of which is the studio’s own design. The furniture is made of natural travertine. There is also a small terrace on the ground floor, decorated by a special plant. Why special? Planting it was quite a challenge.
The client wanted an olive tree, but not in a pot and not on a thin trunk, but a real one, planted with roots and with a wide trunk. Most local companies refused to plant this olive tree because of its weight, as it requires the use of a crane and, secondly, an access road directly to the terrace (…) we managed to find a daredevil who dared to use a crane to carry an olive tree the length and height of the entire house,” recalls Kristina Busko.

In addition to the olive tree, the terrace is decorated with strelitzia, grapefruit and lemon trees, as well as Orchard tree, Kuflik or Alpinia vulgaris.
The private area was created on the first floor and consists of three bedrooms. In one of them, the main motif is a wallpaper on the ceiling with a wave pattern, as well as a painting with expressive colours by Kristina Busko.
