How do you design a dressing room at home? We suggest

When planning the space in your home, it is worth bearing in mind the dressing room. It is one of the most practical and stylish rooms. Regardless of the space you have, the right design for this interior will allow you to make the most of it. Find out how to design a wardrobe at home.

Choose a space and organise it

It is a good idea to designate a separate room for your wardrobe. If you don’t have a separate wardrobe room, you can create one in your bedroom or in the corridor. Daily use should be easier if it is close to the room you sleep in. A walk-in wardrobe is a good solution.

Planning the wardrobe space is key. There should be space for different types of clothes and accessories. Divide the dressing room into different zones, such as:

  • hangers –hang shirts, dresses, jackets and coats on these;
  • shelves and drawers –for T-shirts, trousers, jumpers and skirts. They are also useful for storing underwear and socks;
  • space for shoes – you can put them in separate shelves or on racks. Keep the less frequently used ones in special upper wardrobe boxes;
  • accessories – think special hooks and drawers for belts, hats and handbags. Also carve out space for jewellery such as earrings, bracelets and necklaces: https://lilou.pl/pl/sklep/bizuteria/naszyjniki.html.

Lighting, mirror and wardrobe finishing

The key to a comfortable dressing room is the mirror. Spot and LED lighting will work well – you can install them directly in shelves or cabinets. It allows you to illuminate the individual parts of the wardrobe accurately.

The mirror should be full-length so that you can see your whole silhouette. You can place it on the wardrobe door or mount it separately on the wall. A large mirror will also optically enlarge a small space.

Pay attention to the materials of the wardrobe. Will it be MDF? Or maybe wood? The choice of colour and finish is a matter of taste. It is worth bearing in mind, however, that bright colours work well with a small wardrobe. Don’t forget accessories to match the cabinet fronts, such as a wooden jewellery stand. What else do you need to keep in mind when organising your wardrobe?

A wardrobe should be a place to store your clothes and a space to simplify your daily activities. With this in mind, you may want to consider adding a few extras to it:

  • laundry basket-will help keep your clothes in order;
  • armchair / pouffe –you can sit on them and put your socks or shoes on;
  • a jewellery organiser – choose one with special trays and compartments for earrings, necklaces, pendants or rings. Thanks to an organiser, your favourite jewellery will always be close at hand. You will find interesting and elegant jewellery here: https://lilou.pl/.
